FRES MEN The Freshman class can boast of being the largest class in school with an enrollment of 28 pupils. They survived the initiation party which was really tough, and are recognized as a fine class. All the girls are required to take Home Economics and the boys take Manual Training. Fourteen of them participate in musical groups and four are taking the Oxford Piano Course. A number of the boys went out for football and basketball and show promising results. NORMAL TRAINING The future teachers of Hayes County are nineteen in number. Nine are juniors and ten are seniors. Before the janlors can be promoted to the senior normal training they must pass five of the seventeen teacher's examinations. The professional trainers have to pass twelve of them in order to graduate. To obtain a certificate, the seniors must pass all seventeen state eaam-nations and have practice teaching one week in a rural school. Those who have all their grades and are eligible for a certificate are: Bettie Beazley, Shirley Counce, Phyllis Laird, Byrdine Laird, and Patricia Meade. 17
