NM!! THE HAYES COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL 1941 CURRICULUM 1942 In the ninth and tenth grades there is little or no flexi- bility of program. Ninth graders are required to take Algebra, English, Latin, with Home Economics for the girls and World History for the boys. Manual Training is usually taught for the boys, but had to be omitted this year because ateacher for the subject could not be found. In the tenth grade, pupils have carried four subjects which were required. They are Geometry, English, Biology, and World History. Juniors, this year, were able to take their pick of the fol- lowing subjects: American History, Journalism, Oral English, Physics, Bookkeeping, Advanced Algebra, English Literature, American Literature, and Normal Training Subjects. Due to the factthat Normal Training students must take required work they were not able to avail themselves of all the electives. Senior subjects ran in the same fields as did the Juniors'. However,Rural Sociology-Economics,American Government, Profes- sional Training, and Typing were added to the list. X l JAMES E. HOBACK Custodian .3-
