Due to the fact that the boys were small and out-weighed by most of their opponents,the team was beaten in all games, but showed clean play and sportmanship through the entire year. At the annual football banquet held d:TREN- TON, Vernon Christner made all conference cen- ter. Dale Fowler and Frank Counce received honorable mention, Junior Wach was student-manager. Mr. Cox and Mr. Evans were co-coaches. -20-

The prospects for the second team look good for next year. The first team succeeded in scoring a victory over Max at the Frenchman Valley tournament held at Stratton. Mr. Evans, substituting as coach this year, feels that the season has been very successful from the standpoint of sports- manship and the development of better basket shooting and team work. l - lg -

XM! DRAMATICS The Dramatics Club, although not stressed heavily during the year 1941--42, did its fair part in representing the high school this year. Two one-act plays were presented to a large audience at the Carnival. These plays took in the largest receipts of any one of the carnival departments. The group, pictured above,presented the one-act play nDear Lady, Be Braven as a contest play. This play was rated USup- erior' at the sectional one-act play contest at Culbertson. Mr. L. McCann, the judge, rated Louis Stackhouse and Harold Counce as honorable mention actors. Later, the play was given at the district contest at Arapahoe with a lower rating. Patty Mead represented the school in the Dramatic reading event at the sectional contest. She was given a rating of nGoodn. The last presentation of the year in which the club parti- cipated was the Minstrel, which was given in March. Miss Morgan sponsored the Dramatic Club. -21-
