Girls' Glee Club 1 The Girls' Glee Club was organized in a new way this year. The entire group of girls, who wished to sing, was divided into a regular and a junior glee club. The junior group is made up to a large extent of sophomores and freshmen. The regular club has twenty-two members, juniors, seniors, and sophomores. A sextette--Bonnie Leffler, Marjorie Leffler, Thelma Kotschwar, Lorraine Orman, jane Adair, and Fay Gangwish-has been picked by Miss Morgan. Bonnie Leffler will represent the group as soprano soloist. Both groups and the soloist will appear at the district music contest at Mc- Cook. The sextette and the soloist will appear at the Frenchman Valley Music Festival. Miss Morgan has taken direct leadership of this group, however, Mr. Evans has helped with the directing of the regular glee club. ...121

Foofball Last fall, the Hayes County High School Cardinals started the season with a new coach, lots of fighting spirit, and the will to win, although lack of weight was a serious handicap. Although the year was rather unsuccessful from the standpoint of winning games, it was a grand success from the standpoint of sportsmanship, fighting spirit in the face of overwhelming odds, and the ability on the part of the boys to never give up, no matter how far the other team was ahead of them. Darwin Yonkers was selected conference center for his second year in the Frenchman Valley Six-man football league. Maurice Schuman, Otho Stone, Bill Beezley, and Frank Counce were given honorable mention by the same group. Darwin was elected Honorary Captain by the boys. Junior Wach served as student manager during the season. ....14-
