Soloists appear- ing at both places were Freeman Campbell, who played a trombone solo, Patrica McGrew, a cello solo, and Elizabeth Garrett, a saxophone solo. The girls each received an Exct'lle11t rating. The Orchestra, ably directed by H. Landon Evans, has played for many of our school programs. ..251

Mixed Chorus The chorus represented Hayes County High School in the music festival at Stratton, Nebraska, March 11th. Soloisrs appearing on this program were: Vernon Rucker, Edward McDowell, Maxine Terrell, and Betty Alexander. Members of the Double Mixed Quartet from this group were Charles Laird, Dick Westley, Keith Leffler, Edward McDowell, Maxine Terrell, Margaret Trout, Helen Fichtner, and Betty Alexander. The Chorus and Double Quartet rated Excellent in the Dis- trict Contest at McCook. Soloists appearing on the program at McCook were Maxine Terrell and Edward McDowell, both receiving Good ratings. This group presented a Christmas Cantata, Yuletide Memories, at our regular Christmas Program. The directors of this group are H. Landon Evans and Iris M. Timson. -27.-
