Green Class Colors: Purple and Gold Flower: Talisman Rose The Sophomore Class of 1937-38 has an enrollment of 37 mem- bers. Ten Sophomores are in the Mixed Chorus. Nine girls belong to Girls' Glee Club and seven of the boys are active in Boys' Glee Club. Orchestra includes eleven from our class, but Band exceeds that with fifteen of its members from the Sophomore group. Dorothy Gould, one of the five Sophomores who were in the local Declamarory Contest, went as far as the State Contest where she received a Good rating. The G. A. A. includes nine Sophomore girls, three of which are members of the Pep Club. Q Merlin Yonkers set a good example for the other five sophomore football stars. Merlin Clark, Johnnie Gage, Dick Westley, and Melvin Steckel are the four oustanding of the eight sophomore Basket- ball players. Seven from the class are out for track. Melvin Steckel, Edward Wilson, and Herschel Evans show up as promising material in this sport. ..g-

At the present we have twenty-five members. Our colors are Maroon and XVhite. The class is well represented in all school activities. The Junior Class play, The Man In The Green Sbirf' was ably presented on February 16th. Our Girls, Basketball team won the girls' interclass championship for the second successive year. Our boys also won the boys' interclass basketball championship this year. Many of our class took part in the Music Festival and District Music Contest, bringing home many Excellent ratings for our school. 17...

During the year only one has dropped out. Members of the class have taken an active part in school activities. Fifteen were in instrumental and vocal music, one in dramatics, eleven in boys' athletics, eleven in G. A. A., and two in Pep Club. Early in the year the Sophomores entertained the class at Freshman Reception and initiated them into the mysteries of high school life. Later the Freshmen returned the compliment and enter- tained the Sophs. They have enjoyed another party for Freshmen only. The class has found high school life enjoyable and profitable. They are eagerly anticipating the three years of High School that still lie before them. TQT
