CLASS PROPHECY IN THE FUTURE 1969 I boarded a Transcontrnental Arrlrner rn Denver on my way to tour Unrted States and rfpossrble meet a few of my old frrends Well rt wasn t long before I drscovered that l was rrdrng rn the plane berng prloted by Earl Def astro He now has a partnershrp wrth Transcontrnental Arrlrnes Thrs rnformatron came from Mrs Earl I.feCastro Qformer Mary Hanksj who serves as part trme arrlrne hostess when she rsn t busy In therr spare trme they run a dude ranch rn Lusk Wyomrng I soon found myself seated across the rsle from Ronald Osborn He rs strll srngle and just recently won hrmself a good reputatron as a lawyer He rs on hrs way to Mramr Florrda to trv a case brought agarnst Robert Peters for brgamy It seems that some blond caught hrm rn leap year and he was too bashfulto tell her that he was already hooked We frnally reached Mramr and Ozzre left us From there we hopped over to New York Crty The frrst person we looked up was Patrrcra Peck She rs now workrng rn the Emprre State Burldrng as a top notch secretary We had decrded to get us some more clothrng to complete our trrp so went shopprng In the second store we went rnto we saw Beverly Reno modelrng evenrng gowns and bathrng surts It seems that she and Patrrcra are lrvrng together rn some swank hotel Then we left New York Crty and stopped at the Kentucky Derby Guess who' Mrs Bud Johnson ffor mer Shrrley Strotherdej all decked out rn her Jockey surt wrth Bud brrngrng the horse thatwasto be entered rn the race We learned that Bud had just recerved hrs drscharge from the armed forces and rs hclprng Shrrley wrth her ranch We then boarded our plane to Chrcago There we looked up Duana Drtsch fformerlyj and Wrnrfred Scherbarth Duana rs marrred and rs the superrntendent at a brg hosprtal there It seems that Wrnfred cooks rn the hosprtal but just won t stay away from the handsome rnterns Our next stop was rn Lrncoln Nebraska There we found Tom Hermansen coachrng the Unrversrty s football squad They have won every game thrs year Now we are on our way to good old I-lay Sprrngs and the sand hrlls of Nebraska lguess there were a few who just couldn t leave' We landed at the J L ranch out south of Hay Sprrngs Of course that rs Mr and Mrs Drck Jaggers Qfor merly Janet Luneburgj Iguess rt was lrttle Rrchard Janny Roger and Barbara that met us Really sweet krds They all seem to be dorng pretty well out there Then we went to the Mrrage Flats Yes Larry Jensen has become Presrdent of Hogs Anonymous and has just won the Champron Hog Callrng Contest that was held at Lrncoln Allen and Dwarn Trenkle hate just rnherrted therr dad s ranch They are both marrred but therr wrves can t seem to get along They re now burldrng separate houses Dwarn run a splrnter rn hrs frnger and Al len hrt hrs thumb They just came from Dr Serbousek s offrce Stan has just opened hrs new clrnrc and rs really dorng busrness Kept one patrent there for three weeks after a tonsrllectomy Confrdentrally though I heard rt was a cute lrttle red head' Out north of Rushvrlle we hear that Mrs Ivan Hrndman ftormer Shrrley Horny rs wheat farmrng Shrrley runs a dress shop durrng the day rn Rushvrlle and helps Ive at nrght We decrded we needed some refreshments when we agarn reached Hav Sprrngs so wentrntoDean sCon fectronery Whrle we were eatrng John Gaswrck walks rn balancrng twrus One rn one arm and one rn the other Qurte a famrly man He advertrsed for a wrfe rn Hollywood and really got a bargarn He now runs the Gaswrck ranch We agarn were ready to contrnue our journey When we reached the plane we were surprrsed to see George Gaswrck the mechanrc He has rust returned from a frshrng trrp rn C rnada Next we decrde to take off for the Black Hrlls of South Dakota Here we frnd Paula Kleve She hasjust become the owner of the Hot Sprrngs Plunge and rs teachrug a class the fundamentals of Slrm the way the stars slrm Hrr charn of department stores are dorng qurte well on the sale of swrmrnrng togs We leave thrs sectron of the country and fly to Salt Lake Crty There we soon catch up wrth Jovce Lembrrch She owns and runs a very profrtable nursery Has to get rn practrce you know' A lrttle further on we stop off rn Las Vagas Nevada where we seeforrameJ21C0b:VwhO1:D13Uf11l1Sa UID up the Alaskan Hrghway toward greener pastures she heard that there were ten men for every wom an rn Alaska' Now we are nearly across the contrnent so we contrnue to San Francrsco At the arrport we meet Mr and Mrs Gerard Hertrng Yes they have both been rn the Navy They are on therr wav home now and plan to go back to polrng on the R E A Joan has created a devree that wrll lrft her to the top of a pole so that Bubs wrll at least have part trme company Some prophecres shouldn t happen to a dog but trme wrll tellthe outcome of thrs one IO , .1 9 1 . , . . . . , . It is the aim of each member of the society not only to possess these qualities but also to uphold them. It is their aim to induce others to aspire to scholarly habits worthy service and active leadership. Students who become members of the National Honor Society must have an average of at least a B. They are initiated into the Society after the first semester of each year The duty of the Hay Springs National Honor Society is to publish the school paper, The Hilltopper. This paper is a bi-monthly. It is pub- lished the first and third Thursday of each month.
