The basketball team under the direction of head coaches Mr. Grissinger and Mr. Silverberg won 8 and lost T0 during the 57-58 season. This is quite an improvement over the last few years and with a few breaks the Bears could have piled up an even better recorcl. The Bears got off to a relatively slow start winning but three of the first ten games with victories over Eastern Christian, Bergenfield, and Glen Rock. After this the Bears began to roll and were victorious in four straight over Glen Rock, Franklin, Pompton, and Passaic Valley the victims. The latter three reversed losses suffered earlier in the season, After a lapse of three games, losses to Newton and Ramapo twice, the team closed out the season with an impressive victory over Ramsey. Next year the team will be without the services of standout seniors Rick Makouiy, Al McThomcls, Lou Pisacane, and .lack Tanis. BASKETBALL
