GEIER Principal to the graduates Archimedes, the old mathematician of Syracuse once said, Give me a place to stand and l shall move the world. We in the United States believe education is the best basis for good government, and we are sure it is the firmest fouundation for peace. During your four years with us we have given you a place to stand and now we urge you on to the highest achievements of which you are ca- pable. lf you use your talents wisely, you will in- sure your future happiness in a world at peace. May God bless you always. f to make. There has been no time in the history of the world when youth has been faced with greater problems. Let each problem be a challenge and not a discouragement. There are .endless answers that must be found if civilization as we know it is to exist. We have provided you with a background fitting you for your next step in life. Face life and the future eagerly and courageously in the full knowledge that you have valuable contributions heb? f-L4 Vice-Principal We extend our deepest appreciation to you, Mrs. Gouse, our yearbook adviser, for without your guidance and help, we would have never succeeded in produc- ing this unique Ursidae . GOUSE Yearbook Adviser JEAN INSINNA Senior Class Adviser v iv, li-iii 2 ,fir 2 : ', .' ...... , For your work well done and your ever present helping hand we, the class of '55, leave with you our fondest wishes and deepest thanks. editorial .t iq' As we leave high school we take with us memories of the past and dreams of the future. Our years here have been happy, full, and rewarding. They. have made a vivid impression on our minds that will never be blotted out by time. But we cannot live in the past. We must look forward and see what the future has to offer. Some will go on to other schools, some to the armed forces, and others to the world of business. All three are a means of furthering our education to meet the problems of tomorrow. The only thing that will keep this or any other country free is a well-educated youth. The hopes and plans of our fathers will soon be carried on our shoulders. Although we enter into a world of uneasyypeace and constant struggle between the maior powers, it will be our iob to continue the spread of democracy and education to people in other lands so that some day we might have true and lasting peace. It will be a long and hard iob, but with our ability to reason and act clearly we should win out, for these times, like all times, are good, if we but know what to do with them. Coaches Wheater, Klocek and Gould were the top men in training our boys. With Passaic Valley as our only victory, the team still kept the fight going. 4 A well-equipped and fit team would best de- sribe them.
