Tra veling Incognito The threatening clouds above made the atmosphere even more depressing than it was. A brisk wind blew through the campus. Hey, what was that! A mysteri- ous little creature scurried around a corner. Another chill wind. Calendar pages started flipping. The gust set- tled and so did the calendar. lt was October 31, HALLOWEEN. Vampires, clowns, supposed women and other strange creatures lurked about during lunch on Hallow- een. One of the most original cos- tumes was Tamica White's, other- wise known as the paper lady. She came dressed up with scraps of newspaper stuck to her body. Some other original costumes included a cupcake, a bag bady, and a few trash cans. There was a costume contest for all who dressed up. The competi- tion was very fun and interesting for me, and I hope the same feeling was constant throughout the school, commented Halloween Judging M.C. Mike Hanna. There was also a pumpkin carving contest. Carrie Wenger's class won the sweepstakes prize, Cathy SchindIer's class won scariest, the classes of Tim Baumgartner and Ray Liles both tied for most original, and the title of funniest was given to Dan Flobbins's class. 28 Halloween

STRUTTING HER STUFF - With saber in hand, Senior Elizabeth Formeta parades across the outdoor stage. Each contestant went up individually for judging. n j STRAY CAT - Junior Michelle Castillo and Susan Morrow made an odd couple when they appeared on stage. There were many participants in the costume contest. WHO WAS THAT MASKED WOMAN? - Junior Jen- ny Diette joins the jovial spirit of Halloween in the costume contest. Students wore their costumes throughout the entire day. LET'S CLOWN AROUND - Sophomore clowns Isa- bel Junco and Vanessa Gonalez parade their clown disguises as Student Council member Mike Hana announces the next costume participants.
