Waufofzq The Lively Hive of '55 has had only eight faithful followers who have had all of their twelve years of education in Hawley. They are: Sydonna Burnside, Byron Heimark, Marlene Hagelund, Pearleen Kronbeck, Clifford Lura, Carol Quam, Elroy Rodke, and Robert Olson. GRADE ONE: A group of disillusioned boys and girls stood before Miss Michelson that first day. After we had gotten acquainted with school, we greeted it every morning with our Good Morning Song. One of our projects was 'mak- ing butter. GRADE TWO: This year Marie Johnson and Jean Malakowsky joined the lively hive. At Easter time our teacher, Mrs. Arnold, showed us how to dye Easter eggs. GRADE THREE: This was the year that Byron became so famous for his long original short stories. There alsowas an epidemic of measles. Marlene Schultz joined our merry troop this year. Miss Gustavson was our teacher. GRADE FOUR: Miss Olson, our teacher, helped us to make clothes sprinklers and waste paper baskets out of ice cream containers. Roger Jetvig joined us in this grade. GRADE FIVE: This year we helped present the operetta The Melting Pot of the World. Mary Lee Arneson, and Kermit Nelson were added to the enroll- ment. Miss Janice Swanson was our teacher. GRADE SIX: Gary Brandenburgjoined us here. We showed our dramatic talent by presenting a play entitled, The Princess Who Could Not Cry. Our teacher Miss Lorentzen, directed us. GRADE SEVEN: We finally made our appearance into the high school building. Vic Grani and Darlene Corneliussen joined our class. GRADE EIGHT: New students this year were Joan Tangen,Gail Severson, Bev- erly Nelson, Kermit Bjornson, JoAnn Berg and Kathleen Perkins. Thunderbolt originated this year. Several of the girls were stranded on the end of the broken dock. Goldie Haugvedtjoined us this year. GRA'DE ELEVEN: The Junior-Senior Banquet was the main event of our Jun- ior year. The theme was Hawaiian. We also presented the play Mother Was A Freshman. Darryl Knopp became a member of our class. GRADE TWELVE: We had waited long for this year to finally come.
