This versatile organi- zation supports the team at games, marches in parades, plays at the pep rallys. besides presenting two home concerts during the school year. This year, the band traveled to Bagley. Minn. where they gave a concert. The annual spring concert on May 13 was a big success and was well received. Two of the more diffi- cult pieces played were Overture Eroud and Sousa's stirring Stars and Stripes Forever. lnJu1y. the Band went to Minne- apolis to the Aquatennial. The formula for such a brilliant organ- ization is a director such as Miles Johnson and sixty-seven hard working singers. One of the main events was their Christmas concert which was consider- ed the outstanding event of the school year. Another great highlight was being featured on the Choral Hour over WDAY T.V. An exciting day proved for the choir when they gave a concert at Bagley, Minnesota which turned out to be a great success. They also participated in the Dis- trict Music Contest at Concordia, and gave a Spring Concert. The choir this year was a selected group and each person was auditioned before becoming amember of the choir. So congratulations to the choir of 1954-55 and a special credit to their director, Mr. Johnson! 32 w X fn iv J Vl2f? 'ui'j it ,pd ' x.1,.i, , M , K ' , ' . ,v 5, - I -. .xg jxfgf L X ' . Everyone on the squad got experience at this game. Hawley vs. Casselton The boys were out to really defeat last year's Minn.-Dak. Champs. This was by far our best game of the sea- son. Although the boys tried hard, we were defeated by a score of Z0-26. Much to our discouragement, Bob Dahl's 90 yard T.D. was called back. Hawley vs. West Fargo We played our second home game tau under the lights of the ball park. The boys showed they were still a good team by defeating the Packers 43-7. Hawley vs. Oak Grove We spoiled the Grovers Home- coming day by defeating them Z6-13 in an afternoon game. They were a good ball club but we proved we were alittle bit faster and bigger then they. Hawley vs. Barnesville This was our Homecoming game. This far in the season we had been un- defeated and we were determined to keep it this way. The Seniors really gave the Tojans trouble. We came up with a 46-O final score. Hawley vs. Glyndon We took the Glyndon Buffaloes 34-7 in our last home game of the season. Hawley vs. Waubon We ended our season with another victory of 54-13.
