REMEMBER WHEN? Twelve years ago with some smiles and a few tears, we took our first step on the ladder of learning. With the guid- ing hand of our first teacher, we launched out to learn the three R's. Of the 24 that started to school that year, eight have continued to climb the ladder together for 12 years. We have made many changes since the days of 1956, but we still have the same inquisitive minds that questioned our teacher each day. It is with sincere appreciation for your patience and un- derstanding and for your proudly molding us into children with a desire and ambition for the finest things in life that we ded- icate the 1967-68 Bearcat to you, Mrs. Clary! The Senior Class

Mr. C. E. Womack, Superintendent Amid a mass of confusion brought on by hippies, draft-card burners, and all those who flagrantly disregard laws and regulations, it is refreshing, indeed, to look at this fine group of boys and girls who make up the student body of Hawley High School. Each day we hear dire and dismal predictions concerning the fu- ture of this present younger generation. They are said to be abso- lutely irresponsible and lacking in the moral courage it takes to face any serious problem or crisis. And yet we find the vast majority of our young people at Hawley to be serious-minded, considerate and very muchly interest in the welfare of others. The faculty wishes to commend you for this and wish you well in all your future endeavors. Mr. Frank Jones, High School Principal Of the 1967 -68 seniors, the greatest percentage in the history of Hawley High School have plans for further training or college. I believe this indicates the attitudes we always hope to establish in our students. The enthusiasm and dedication of these young men and women greatly enhance their chances for continued success and happiness. I feel sure that the examples and accomplishments of this senior class will long be a challenge to future seniors at Hawley High School. Congratulations seniors! My thanks and appreciation to the faculty and student body for your cooperation in making 1967 -68 another pleasant and successful school year. Mr. Carl McDonald, Grade School Principal It is always with mixed emotions that we approach graduation and the departure of our seniors. Happy, of course, for their success and fulfillment of our confidence, but saddened by the thought of a relationship being broken that has existed for many years. This senior class was the original peewee team at Hawley Elementary School. They made the start and the tradition has been followed through the years. We are grateful for the fine caliber of students in this class and proud to point them out as their graduates.
