' J Jddf9 As we near the end of our school year and the time fast approaches when we must send forth another group as graduates of our school, a thought comes to our mind and we feel that we should send this thought out with our graduates. As you go on into business or higher education you can hear all a- bout you a clamor for the stressing of science and mathematics in our schools and in our nation. While we readily admit that we have failed somewhat in this respect, we are quick to point out that there are things of far greater importancethat maybe acquired in one's education. What have we accomplished if we train a nation of scientists and mathemati- cians who have not been educated as to the significance of the American Heritage? Why should these scientists strive for the progress of their country if they have not been schooled in those things that teach the dearness of freedom? It is our desire that you, as citizens of our wonderful nation, have acquired a realization of the enormous value of what it is to be an Americang that you are ever aware that constant vigilance must be exercised and that sacrifices must be made in order to preserve this American birthright of liberty. We are confident that those of you who become scientists, engineers and technicians will also possess a sense of responsibility to your country and that you will always be protectors of freedom. Signed, Charles E. Womack Superintendent
