Upon leaving our beloved Alma Mater, we do bequeath to the fac ult y , lowerclassmen and friends the folliwng described and named articles: ARTICLE I: To Mr. Allgood, we wish to exp re s s our many thanks for the interest and leadership he has shown us during the past year. ARTICLE II: To the faculty we bequeath our respect and gratitude for every goal they have helped us to reach. We leave to them the promise that we shall always strive to justify their con- fidences in our ability. ARTICLE III: To the Juniors, we leave all of the enjoyment of being Dignified Seniors and also the fun of our last year. ARTICLE IV: To the Sophomores, we wish luck and success in the years to come. 611155 History A big night! June 1957, Graduation! The auditorium at Haw River High School is filled with the excitement of friends as they await to see the dignified Seniors of '57 march down the aisle - th e s e Seniors, who four years ago were not so dignified. Let us look back into the past as we began our first day as Freshmen. Thirty one of us were fascinated by the ringing of the bell to signify the changing of classes,being elected officers of our class and Student Council, and by being asked to join the clubs we had looked forward to. Our biggest thrill was dressing up for our first Christmas Prom. Thus we began our long, happy journey through High School. There were twenty -nine to begin our Sophomore year. Our time passed quickly as we participated in sports and other activities. The activity we were most interested in was our sponsoring the Christmas Prom. We spent many long, hard hours to make it a beautiful Winter Wonderland. We were very proud of our success. Time pa s s ed quickly during our first two years of high school, but our Junior year passed by almost too swiftly. The class , numbering twenty- six, had many important activities to look forward to. We had avery successful Junior Play, Glory to Goldy . We sold magazines to sponsor a lovely Junior-Senior Banquet. Our theme was Hitch Your Wagon to A Star. We thought it to be a gratifying success. We all knew that soon we wouldbe taking the role as the most important individuals in school. Then our big momentcame. We received our gleaming g old classrings, which we wore with pride. Seniors at last, there were twenty-four of us and each was determined to make this the happiest year of our long, long journey through high school. lt was a wonderful year filled with excitement, such as our Senior Play, a most thrilling trip to Washington and New York, and the wonderful Junior-Senior Banquet, where we, at last, were the honored guests, Our biggest mom ent had finally arrived - Graduation! We had achieved our goal. We have reached the present again, realizing that the classmates incaps and gowns are standing together for one last time, at the end of our journey,awaiting proudly and with dignity, more goals to be achieved as we prepare to leave Haw River High School and go our separate ways. 611155 Prophecy The othe r evening when I went to a Gypsy t o have my future told, I looked at the c ry s t al ball and noticed the way the vision c ame in and then went out so quicklyg it made me think of my years in s chool - our activities, our studies, and our plans for the future. It is true just like the vision that we graduated so quicklyg we disappeared almost ina cloud of smoke. lt was then I decided to find out where everyone was. It took quite some time, but I believe this crystal ball has aided me in discovering what every last one of them was doing in the future years. Sandra Hughes is now in Hollywood, d oing a program with Elvis Presley. Of course that's what she has always wanted to do. Joan Fulcher is also in Hollywood, and she's trying to take Elvis away from Sandra, since s he is the producer of the program Sandra and Elvis are doing. Dorothy Webster is now married and d oing typing for her husband at Western Electric. Jessie Mae Bradshaw is now a private secretary for Bennie Hester, and you can find her most any time sitting on his lap taking dictation. Frankie Bosquet is now coaching at Wak e Forest, and he is also rearing five little football players, Maur ic e Clayton is now an all-star basketball player for State College. Robert Jones now owns four new Cadillacs, for he is doing very well in his new Civil Engineering Corporation. Becky Rider,who is now in Hollywood studying ballet under Cyd Charis se, is well knownfor her unusual dances and has been signed to a movie contract by M.G.M. Carol McBride is now a head nurse for surgery in Alamance County Hospital. Bobbie Smith is now head nurse of the pediatric ward at a hospital up north. She also has a part time job as a housewife, Frances Turner is now a beauty ope r ator and fixing her own little girls' hair. Barbara Terrell is in Paris where she models in the exclusive fashion shops of Dior and Fath. Joel Fulcher is now part owner of the Ford Corporation where he designs his own cars and has with him, Bud Faucette, the top mechanic. Jane Clark and Donn Trollinger finally tied the knot . Donn is now in the para- troopers and Jane is a successful house- wife. Frank Way has apartnership in Burlington M ill s , where they are really turning out the products. Bobby Bason is owner ofthe Valleydale Meat Company, where he sells meat to all who can afford it. Wilma Cheek is now a recording star in New York. She also owns amusic store whe re s he s ells and listens to Elvis Presley and Pat Boone records. Curt Laster owns a large mouse trap c ompany where he sells many, because there are many rats around. Jack Turner is the owner of a large rac e track where he also races, with his Ford. Mary Foglernan and Boyd Satterfield a r e married and are working for the FBI in Washington. Our Senior adviser, James Davis Jr, is nowaColonel in the United States Army. As for me, I am rearing a ba team and working at Western Electric and liking every minute of it. It was wonderful to see what all my classmates were doing, and to discover they were getting along so well. Geraline C. Bullis Class Prophet
