1 I' ? SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We landed in High School in the year of 197-1-l, as green freshmen. We were really much green- er than we thought. But it didnit take long for us to realize just how little we knew. There were fifty-three members of our class that year. Several dropped out during the year. A few classmates participated in the Eng- lish club. , WPollyU Beauford won the Brooks Medal in the Recitation Contest that year. This was rare for a Freshman. In 1942 we were wise sophomores. This proved a very interesting year for all of us. One of our most interesting subjects was Biology. We made various experiments and collected wild flowers. ' Nineteen forty-three found us Juniors and very thrilled over plans for the Junior-Senior Banquet. We sold magazines to raise money and had our banquet December. Mr. Newlin, a former teacher, was snr guest speaker. Finally, in 19 LL, we reached our Senior year. For all of us, this was what we had been wait- ing for. As Seniors, we took the lead in school acti- vities. We started a series of high school par- ties. We took charge of the program and re- freshments for the first party. December 10th our Senior class was honored by a banquet at the Alamance Hotel, given by the the Sophomores. y April 6th we presented the play, Girl Shy . We had a wonderful time rehearsing and immense- ly enjoyed presenting it. Now that we are coming to the close of our high school years, we're looking forward to a new life that awaits us. As we go forth we ' shall carry with us many memories and cherished thOugh'bs'o ---Nancy Perdue, Historian 7F77 f f f w f.,fTQQ, r --,,.a,-n, Ei n af?f?EffgffTfgff9fwr.ess.wrwenixfesnssisi.resew1ff.trtwgvsgpg Trix. . . 1, 2 gailffif ADQQ We v r vi A Y fQ -'Qgfj ' J-1, , 313 U Pit ni f 1 4 F,s g TYL f if sf l K' 1-fri ii ft5f'Q if-itiig f f E
