SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In 'rhe years I946 and I947 our class which is now seeing fhe lasf of High School, was inifiafed in fhe fradifional way, by fhe grand, buf hearfless Seniors. For a bunch of greenies, as we were. we did wonders wifh a successful dance held affer fhe Chinook game. The officers who made our year whaf if was were: Ted Niimi, Presidenfg George Tiefema, Vice Presidenfg and Bob Anderson, Secrefary Treasurer. We chose Neil Brenna, Donald Erickson, Rose Zumofo, Ted Niimi, and Norma Haaland as our sfudenf council repre- senfafives. Under fhe leadership of Presidenf, George Niimi: Vice Presidenf, George Tiefema: and Secrefary Treas- urer. Marlene Pfiefer, fhe second year for fhe class of l95O was also a successful one. Many boys wenf ouf for sporfs and several earned leffers in foofball and frack. Our members of The sfudenf council were, Marlene Pfiefer, Jim Karlen, Bob Brown, James Wesfom, and Ralph Hufcheson. We sponsored fwo dances and worked hard fo provide money for fufure class expenses. The Junior year of l949 proved fo be fhe mosf oufsfanding of our four years. We sfarfed fhe year by elecfing our fhree class officers wifh a real polifical campaign, using posfers, pins, slogans, and giving speeches in fronf of fhe sfudenf body. The officers elecfed were, Richard Lucas, Mary Davis. and Ted Kluzek in fheir respecfive offices. The fradifional Sadie Hawkins Day Dance was given by fhe Junior class in November and was deco- rafed wifh life size characfers of Dog Pafch. Through- ouf our Junior year we gave ofher dances and sold concessions. The gala evenf of fhe year was fhe annual Junior Prom which fook place on fhe fwenfy-second day of April. The fheme was ROSE ROOM and was so well managed and decorafed fhaf if was rafed as one of fhe very besf, if nof fhe besf, ever fo be presenfecl in 'rhe hisfory of Havre High School. The Prom concluded our Junior acfivifies wifh fhe excepfion of fhe Junior Picnic in fhe Bear Paw Mounfains fhe lasf day of school. During fhis year our sfudenf council represenfa- fives were Donna Lee Rueffen, Beverly Chase, Don Erickson, Richard Lucas, and Rose Zumofo. Bob Anderson was Vice Presidenf of fhe sfudenf body. The members our class added fo fhe boys' afhlefic club were Ben Newby, Joe Wanago, Larry Sapp, George Niimi. Archie Kaluza, and Don Erickson. The six boys who represenfed us af Boys' Sfafe were Richard Lucas. Don Erickson, Ralph Hufcheson, Bill Chase, George Tiefema, and George Niimi. Rose Zumofo wenf fo Girls' Sfafe as our represenfafive. As Presidenf, Ted Kluzek led us fhrough our final year in High School. We also chose Bill Chase as Vice Presidenf, Ted Niimi as Secrefary, and Susan Travis as Treasurer. The oufsfanding evenf of 'rhe year was our Senior Soiree. The fheme was FALLING LEAVES feafuring brighf aufumn colors of red, orange, yellow, and brown. The Senior boys held fhe spoflighf in foofball. Those winning leffers were Capfain Bill Leeds. Don Erickson, Joe Wanago, Larry Sapp, Jim Karlen, Murdo MacKay, John Anderson, George Niimi, Sfanley Knudson, Dick Lucas. and Don Pafrick.
