If forever a coward, unable to stand up for justice and happiness, he will accomplish little in the future. For this reason then, Central is preparing her students to face the World into which they will graduate. Armed with a shield composed of Religion, Academics, Social Grace, and Good Sportsmanship and aided by the light of wisdom, they advance onward as the men and Women of tomorrow. The way may be rough and others may hesitate, yet Catholicism and neighborly love will prevail because schools like Central have instilled in their students the battle cry, Sine Timore. annual smtp BOTTOM ROW, l-r: Jeanne Lund, Marcia O'Nei1, Jeanette Kellar, Sherry Paulsen, Editor. Ys f 4 W i 4 Q E1 9 Q 1 . 2 MOT CGOICAUOD Four years ago, Mother Athanasia was appointed Principal of Havre Central High School. Since that time she has willingly devoted herself to the fulfillment of Central students in all phases of life. Her personal sacrifice to make strong Christians and perfect citizens of these students, in addition to her ability in the classroom and the multitude of services she performs daily, are held in esteem. Patient and understanding, she has stood ready to cope with any problem, large or small, of any student. Central is fortunate in possessing such a competent leader. So therefore, may We respectfully express our gratitude by dedicating this 1964 Nugget to you, Mother, as a small token for your services as Principal, Teacher, and Counselor. Dear Students: In the education of youth, the means used are necessarily based on the convictions men have regarding the ultimate aim of life. The axiom He who wishes an end, wishes the means to that end when applied to education, determines the curriculum and method of training to be followed. Further, the strength of one's convictions in the purpose of life here and hereafter gives strength to both teacher and pupil. The basic foundation upon which Havre Central rests as a school is the Christian conviction of the origin, nature and destiny of man. As teachers, we wish to help you become ultimately citizens of Heaven. In so doing, we do not overlook the fact that first you must be good citizens of earth, hence, as educators we wish to prepare you for the world into which you will graduate, with its economic, political and social unrest. You will be your brother's keeper. Your neighbor has rights which impose upon your obligations. So, too, do you have rights. Likewise God. Towards helping you to distinguish between which rights come first, Havre Central exists. As you go forth, the Faculty hopes that you will justify Central's existence and sanctify your own by putting first things first. My T faculty FR.
