Page lO HAVILOOK i952 Class History My, what a great but terrifying event that was back in i940 when, as first graders, we first entered the Haviland-Scott School. But we soon forgot to be afraid as we made new friends with our classmates and teachers, We advanced through the lower grades under the kind guidance of Mrs. Gantt, Miss Bidlack, Mrs. Fast, Mrs. Ptak, and Mr. Jenkins. Finally the day arrived when we found ourselves freshmen. Mr. Sherer was chbsen our advisor, Louise Gudakunst, President, George Jenkins, Vice President, and Ruth Stoller, Secretary and Treasurer. Then before we knew it, we were sophomores. Mr. Sherer was again with us while George Jenkins was elected President, Le Roy Shaw, Vice President, and Dorothy Funk, Sec- retary and Treasurer. Now we were next best to seniors, we thought as we entered our junior year. As juniors, we were faced with many problems such as managing the candy stand, presenting Junior Mister, and taking the seniors to Wash- ington, D. C., but thanks to the wonderful supervision of Mrs. Ensign and our officers, Robert Laukhuf, President, Janet Mohr, Vice President, and Patty Stoller, Secretary and Treasurer, we managed very well. At last we had reached our goal. But as we inherited the name of Seniors, we also inherited many responsibilities. We decided to edit this volume of l-lavilook and also to present The Darling Brats. We wish to thank Mr. Ensign for his guidance in editing this annual, and also Mrs. Ensign for being so very kind in helping us with our plays and other class problems. This year Louise Gudakunst was elected President, Raymond Daniels, Vice President, and Barbara Brian, Secretary and Treasurer. And now as we i8 Seniors of 52 face the Baccalureate and Commencement season, we can't help but recall all of the pleasures and companionships that we have known here at Haviland-Scott. Another high school era has come to a close, and we, the graduates, can face the future knowing that the time we have spent here at Haviland-Scott has not been in vain but will help us to be better citizens in the future.
