As a sample of things to come, the Wildcats took a double win. Reserve score 30-16. Varsity score 41-28. Nov. l5 At Grover Hill. Victory again to both squads. Reserve score 45-15. Varsity score 35-20. Nov. 22 Antwerp battled the Wildcats at Haviland. The home team turned in two more well earned wins. Reserve score 34-23. Varsity score 42-23. Dec. 6 Wildcats easily vanquished Oakwood on the latter's floor. Reserve score 39-ll. Varsity score 52-28. Dec. 13 Haviland tasted defeat for the first time on the Payne court. Reserve score 23-27. Varsity score 22-51. Ian. 14 The Wildcats playing at home handed Latty their first de- feat of the season. The reserve also scored a victory. Reserve score 25-29. Varsity score 49-41. Ian. 17 Haviland met Payne again. Victory!! Reserve score 32- 27. Varsity score 52-42. Ian. 21 Grover Hill Hornets came to the Haviland court for return games and met defeat. Reserve score 43-13. Varsity score 46-20. Ian. 24 Oakwood at Haviland and the Cats have easy victories. Reserve score 43-ll. Varsity score 49-29. Ian. 28 On the Antwerp court, the Wildcats won both contests. The reserves were in danger several times but settled down to win. Reserve score 23-19. Varsity score 58-37. Ian. 31 The Wildcats prowl northward. Latty fought valiantly on their own floor but gave way to the sharpshooting Cats. The Reserve game

Page so HAVILOOK 947 was settled in an overtime at 34-32. The Varsity ended at 41-40, virtually as- suring the County League trophy to Haviland-Scott School. Feb. 7 Paulding came to the Haviland-Scott court and went home with double victories. Reserve score 19-30: Varsity score 40-30. Feb. ll At Hoaglin-Iackson the Wildcats won contests. The var- sity was in danger several times, but settled down to win. Reserve score. 33-28: Varsity, 41-30. Feb. 18 The Haviland-Scott Wildcats went to the Paulding gym to play Payne in the first game of the tournament. The Wildcats led the Payne Panthers all the way. First quarter score 7-6. Half time score 19-ll. At the end of the third quarter the score was 28-24. The final score was 38-36 in fa- vor of the Wildcats. Feb. 21 On the third night of the tournament, Haviland journeyed to Paulding with high hopes of advancing to the finals, but Paulding had the same idea. Paulding took an early lead of 6-3, at the one-fourth mark. But during the second quarter, the Wildcats gained to make the score stand at the half 17-18, in Paulding's favor. The third was nip and tuck, but still 25-27. During the last quarter the Haviland sharpshooters just could not hit the bas- ket. The game ended with the score 31-38 in Paulding's favor. Feb. 22 On the final night of the county tourney, Haviland showed that they could still play ball by beating Grover Hill in the Consolation game. During the second quarter, Haviland went on a scoring spree and led 36-12. Haviland scored 4 points and Grover scored 3 during the third quarter. The game ended with the score 54-22 in Haviland's favor. Paulding won the tournament trophy and Crowell also of Paulding received one of the sportsmanship trophies. Haviland won the basket ball used in the tourney as a Consolation award and Carl Sinn, Iunior forward, was awarded the 3r's of Sports Sportsmanship trophy. Haviland also re- ceived the League trophy while Antwerp won the league sportsmanship and tournament runner-up trophies. '44-'45, '45-'46, Left to right Fast, Bob Williams.
