The students and faculty of Haverstraw-Stony Point High School were grieved this year at the loss of Miss Kathryn Goldsmith, of 76 Hudson Avenue. Miss Goldsmith, who graduated from the local schools, became the first full-time office assistant to the late Superintendent of Schools, l.. O. Mark- ham, over 35 years ago, and she was in the school system until her health failed last November. Miss Goldsmith was a beloved friend of both pupils and faculty members, and she devoted her 2 i l l life to service? to the school. The only siiurviving member of Miss Goldsmith's immediate tainily is her twin sister, Miss Gladys Goldsmith. AE brother, Frederick, died within the past few years. They were children of the late James A. and Kitty Fredericks Goldsmith. Her father and grandfather were prominent business- men of the community. Miss Goldsmith's father was also prominent in the political and civic life of the county. i Eius memoria hos muros numquam relinquet.
