MR. LYON Principal Elementary School As an early influence in our school lives, Mr. Lyon guided us through our years in grade school. This first influence is an important one and we are proud that we had Mr. Lyon for our elementary principal. fr 4- MR. NADEAU Principal Ir.-Sr. Higli Scliool To our beloved principal goes much of the credit for what we are today. Without his help and guid- ance throughout our high school years we would not be successful graduates of Haverling, ready to face the world with confidence. We offer Mr. Nadeau our th n s everything he has done f . MR. ROCK Vice Principal and Transportation Supervisor To Mr. Rock, we give the credit for getting us to school on time, Whether we liked it or not. We also know him as a business teacher and the guiding hand of this yearbook. We can truthfully say that we could never have published this book Without him. Thank you, Mr. Rock, for being our friend and counselorl

Administration To THE CLASS OF 1959: I am pleased to have the oppor- tunity of writing a few words in the 1959 Yearbook, and wish to extend my appreciation to the Haverlin- guist staff for granting me this privi- lege. First of all, may I extend congra- tulations to every member of the senior class. This year, your last in Haverling, will soon be over and you will have graduated from high school. I know this will be a proud moment for all of you and, although congratulations at this time are somewhat premature, I assure you they are no less genuine. It seems to me that there are many things of which this class of '59 can be very proud. Yours is the largest class in the history of our school, and we are hopeful that at least a hundred diplomas can be given out at commencement time. You can boast of more scholarship winners than any previous class which is a good indication of a high overall scholastic ability. There is an abundance of talent in other fields, such as music, sports, drama- MR. WIGHTMAN, Superintendent of Schools tics, art, etc. But above all, it has been my observation that you are ladies and gentlemen, friendly and courteous, with a high sense of fair play for all. If you will hold on to and nurture these fine attributes your success in life is already assured. Again may I congratulate you on having nearly completed your high school education. I can say that all of us at Haverling are the richer for having had the opportunity to associate with you, and we hope and trust that Haverling has given to you those qualities that will ensure rich and rewarding lives for each of you in the years that lie ahead. VERNON E. VVIGHTIXIAN General Oflice Staff Four smiling faces greet us as we pass the general office. The women who are there are part of the be- hind the scenes workers who help to make Haverling the wonderful school that it is. Leona Spragueg Clara Hilleg Mary Glea- son, Marion Ormsby.
