HEADMASTER S MESSAGE For suxteen years I have been wrutung luttle messages for thus space They have usually set forth and developed a sungle udea hopefully of some value to the reader So many worthwhule topucs have been pulung up through the years how ever that I have become umpatuent wuth the practuce of deluverung each one un a neat luttle essay of uts own Thus year I toss several of these your way un questuon form Not all of them wull concern each one of you but one or more should struke home I know they do wuth me Why dont I say thank you more often and un more ways to deservung persons? Why do I spend SIO on purely recreatuonal pleasure and guve only 5Oc to the Communuty Fund? Why dont I keep my shoes polushed my haur combed and my person neat? Why do I so often postpone the doung of the necessary when experuence has shown that thus creates unhappy sutuatuons'P Why do I lack the courage un the face of socual pressures to stand by a con vuctuon'P Why do I resort to vulgaruty and profanuty'? Is thus the only way I can get people to pay attentuon'P In short why dont I extend thus lust some rauny Saturday nught and maul ut to the Headmaster? Thus mught take care of the messages for a good many years to come Or lust hand them to hum when I return as an alumnus for lunch un the cafeterua'P I know I am always welcome You could not be more rught Haverford us your School and I say thank you to the Senuor Class for all the good that you have guven to your Alma Mater ff! Crosman Hall today mained until 1955. During the period from 1928 to 1930, two significant advancements were made. First the old Junior School was purchased, second, donations by Joseph B. Ryan made possible the present gym- nasium. From that time until 1950, when the new wings were built, the school remained virtually unchanged. In 1955 the Oaks was stripped down and remodeled making the modern Crosman Hall. Another advance- ment was marked this year with the completion ot the .Junior School, an advancement which brings to a close Haverford's modernization program.
