tg: no RUSSELL CONWELL BALL IR Russ R C Entered 1935 WFST POINT I-IALIGOLUK Business M Index Feature Editor 44 Student Counc1l 44 Signet 44 Current Events 44 Glee Club 43 44 Dance Committee 44 Honor Roll 38 44 Dramatic Club 43 44 Bond Club 43 44 Varsity Football H 43 l35 Football 40 Varsity Squash H 43 C Varsity Track H 44 Mile Relay Tc im 44 Quahhcation Medal 44 Time Test Winner 41 4 anager 44 aptain Z As ex ery Senior has to do sooner or later I too have now reached the time when it is necessary to write my autob1ography for the HALIGOLUK My first recollection of Haxerford was away back rn the spring of 1935 when it was rumored that I didnt appear to have enough brains to be a Haverfordian However after a great deal of persuasion from the family and a bit of tutoring on my part the school accepted me as 1 and at the same time harrowed by Haverford s all powerful yellow sheet which seems to see all and know all My favorite sport has been football but for eight years I played from the bench nevertheless this year Doc got soft hearted and put me in once in a while Although my experiences were not of the type that make the headlines they are thlngs I shall remember Although as yet I dont know what I am going to do when I graduate in une I hope to go to West Point But wherever I find myself IH Im sure that I shall always remember and pront from the expenences and training that I have rece1ved at Hay erford EDITOR S NOTE Russ played a good deal of football this year but the reason for this fact was not Doc s soft heart but Russ 3b1llf16S as a player Russ was the first string center all year 1n splte of being hampered by an injured leg after the Northeast game He has been an exceptional squash player for some years and rounded out his career as such by captammg the team th1s w1nter Russ IS a runner of some note and 1 expected to do well again this year He IS also a member of the Signet Society the Student Council and several other societies and committees Moccc 10' , . , . . 2 1 .
