Guidance This year the Guidance Department was moved into a more efficient and accessible spot. From the Leedom House, the Guidance Staff moved into offices in the new wing of the school. This move helped guidance services become more attainable to a great number of students, who were able to see the counsel- ors themselves, use the VICS computer, or peruse the college library easily. McGarvie Gettysburg College B.A. Service Club 26 Greystones Literary Sponsor The English Department, headed by Mr. John Rybnik, continued to offer a great number of courses to best satisfy the varied needs of the students. Sophomores were required to take Sophomore English, which includes notetaking, study habits, and standardized test taking. Most juniors took a required American Literature course, while most seniors' courses dealt with British Literature. Placement English was offered. This year, in all levels, there was a great deal of emphasis on composition. The English Department offered a wide enough range of courses to interest as many stu- dents as possible.
