After the completion of one year of Biology, a student may take ad- vanced scientific courses. Biology I deals with the development of the plant and animal kingdoms from simple to com- plex forms. Through a study of cytology, em- bryology, genetics, radiation biology and the ana- tomy of mammals, Biology II encourages intel- ligent discussions on a college level. Chemistry I and Physics I concentrate on ex- periments as a teaching formula. In contrast. Chemistry II and Physics II treat the subject matter from a theoretical view-point as opposed to a more definite one. Science electives at Haverford contribute to the students' awareness of the world in which he lives as well as to his exact knowledge of sci- entific principles.
