0I'eLU0l' Peace is the most desirable state of life in todays world of turmoil and strife. Therefore, the Class of' 1955 dedicates its yearbook to peace. The theme shows the steps which may he taken toward the development of world peace. The illustration to the right represents the world in its unstahle condition. It can follow one of two 0fblfS,+W2lf or Peace. The responsihility of this generation is to restore peace so the world will not he destroyed by an Atomic Wzir, Each section of the hook is introduced hy suggesf tions of the Class of 1955 for restoring peace and security to the world. The United Nations. the greatest step toward peaceful world policies, represents our administraf tive powers. It symbolizes the joining together ol' nations to promote world understanding. The senior class, now opening the door to the future, may hold the key to a peaceful world. Religion teaches us to love one another. Therefore. the goal of our class is to try to ohtain peace through greater religious tolerance. The drawing on the Activity Page represents the Wcwrld Fair, where people of all races. crecds, and nationalities share their products for the heneht of the world. The greatest harmony hctween nations is found at the Qlympie Games, The drawing which intro' duces the Athletic section represents the torch bearer who lights the torch at the heginnine of the Olympic Games, The entwining circles, representing the live continents, are the symhol of thc Olympics, The untlerclassmcn also have a part in deciding the future of the world, whose key is Atomic Energy. The Class of '55 hopes that this power will he used in the construction and not the destruction of the world.
