HAVERFIELD supplied three boats and their six crews with food, fuel, water, and repair assistance. THE PCF crews rotated between a day of patrol on the swifts, to a day of rest on the HAVERFIELD, At left, a PCF machine gunner checks out the tools of his trade be- fore a patrol. THE PCF's, or Fast Patrol Craft, are all aluminum fifty-foot vessels which indeed live up to their name. At left: A swiftie makes her approach on the HAVERFIELD, A daily job for HAVERFIELD personnel was tending to the needs of the swift boats. At left SN Dave A DuBeau tends lines while the PCF is alongside.
