Homecoming Homecoming was hcld on Friday, December 19. The evening began at 7:00 with our two ball clubs playing Fonda. We were proud to say that both teams were victorious. The score of the girls game was 63-37 and the score of the boys game was 78-A7. Imnediately following the ball games was the long-awaited coronation. The procession was led by Mary Mekemson and Jon Thompson. They carried the crowns on purple satin pillows. Betty O'Neall and Danny Hauswirth represented the freshmen class, followed by Linda Krischel and David Martens, sophomores, and Janet Cox and Paul Muenzenmay, juniors. Next came the seniors: Bonnie Hanish and Randall Larson, Joan Levene and Tom Clausen, and Phyllis Wienhold and Bill Campidilli. Mr. McIntosh crowned Bill Canmidilli our first king. Bill in turn crowned Phyllis Wienhold our first Homecoming queen. Janet Cox, junior attendant to the queen, presented Phyllis her flowers. Mr. Mekemson played the traditional nPomp and Circumstance Processional Marchn and NGraduation March.N The juniors were in charge of the crowns, flowers, and the chairs, the sophmores were in charge of the decorations in the lobby, and the freshmen were in charge of the refreshments. A Homecoming dance was held in the gym after the coronation. Later in the evening the ULo-Lites,U a group of high school students, furnished us with entertainment. RL

Dr. Gibbs ------------------ - -------- Don Bush Senior Plays HOUR TOHNU A prize winning play by Thornton Wilder is produced without scenery. The stage manager, instead of being hidden in the wings, takes a leading part in the play. The audience watches as the properties are moved about. Imagination has full sway. WOur Townn is a play which never loses its power to touch our deepest sensibilities. It evokes the beauty of the simple things. The Stage Manager says UThis is the way we were in our growing-up, and in our marrying, and in our doctoring, and in our living, and in our dying.H Many critics consider the final act the most vitally moving scene in the modern theater. It shows the peace and quiet of death which can never be under- stood by the living.
