Barbara told us that she was the typing teacher at Hauser and Beverly, the agriculture teacher. We then asked them if they were teaching any of Eugene Anderson's children. Barbara said that Debbie was in her class. From Debbie she had learned that Eugene was at the head of the research division working with escape-proof play-pens for Todd's Tot 'n Toy Com- Pam'- Suddenly we felt a shove from the line formed behind us and we noticed Bill Moore and Kenny Oli- plant, who ovsmed a company making Sniffy perfume, the type dogs go for, shouting at us for holding up the line. With this encouragement we entered the gymnasium and found seats near Julia Klipsch, Wilma Essex, Mary Kay Ritchison, Bonnie Thayer, and Linda Shepherd. Julia said that she was the widow of the late Tony Banks, who was killed along with Raymond Brovsm while drag racing. They ran into the nee in front of the ranch house on the farm jointly ovmed by Charles Herndon and Earl Mayes. Julia said that Linda Rednour was her beautician, who specialized in pedicures. Wilma said that she was a gossip columnist and had recently written about a Hollywood scandal in- volving Dennis Gommel, his wife, the former Alma Read, and Darryl Imlay. Her chief informers were Lucille Caldwell, Ruth Mitchell, and Carolyn Law. Mary Kay Rltchison said that she was a clerk in a large super market in St. Louis Crossing managed by Charles Compton and Don Richards. Some of the housewives that she sees frequently are Jean Berken- stock, Anna Mings, Rose Kent, Sharon McCarty, and Martha Norman. Bonnie Thayer said that she was a missionary and that she had returned recently from Borneo. She had met Mark Hayes and the former Kathleen Finneran on the ship. They had made a fabulous fortune selling plaid toothpaste. She also informed us that her ship had been captained by a very charming gentle- man, Larry Paetzel. Upon her return from Bomeo, she was asked to speak at a banquet at Los Angeles where she received the key to the city from Mayor Stephen Stafford. Linda Shepherd informed us that she and Sharon Marshall were the head janitors in the court house. They had recently hired Cecil Cox and Kenny Titus to clean the furnace pipes. The day before, the sheriff, Emest Mote, had arrested Arnold Andrews for painting a yellow line down the middle of the gra- vel road where the County Commissioner, Ken McClure, lived. The Alumni president, Dennis Keller, who directs traffic in Hope, rose no conduct the business meet- ing. In the electlon of officers, Joe Everroad was elected vice-president and Ruth Drake was elected sec- retary. We found that Joe is a bartender and Ruth is still happily married. Sally McChxllough was then appointed chairman of the decoratlng committee for next year because she was an interior decorator. Larry Bumes, Master of Ceremonies, who ovms a chain of hardware stores, led some games, then recognized some alumni who hadn't returned since graduation. Among these was Barbara Beeker, who was a famous model in New York City. Another was Paul Hill, who had built a rocket which Jim Ropp was testing. He hasn't returned as of yet. Linda Padgett was also recognized. She was a police woman in the San Francisco Police Department. After the initiation we were informed that David Hill regularly cleans the gears of Big Ben in London. We also learned that Loretta Warriner was guiding safaris in darkest Africa. We were told that Dean Beeker was the pizza king of Rome. We learned that Linda Roberts was the princess of Nicaragua and Donald Saylor and Gene Richards were dope peddlers in Hong Kong. At the climax of the evening, a professional band, now appearing at the Wooden Club, performed, consisting of Larry Cox, Sue Crow- horn, Evelyn Gabriel, Marjorie Harms, and Jane Robertson. As we departed we held pleasant memories of the class of 1959. Seniors are found driving second-hand cars, cutting classes, wearing senior Cords, crashing parties, selling magazines and paying friendly visits to the prin- cipal, A senier is intelligence with ei play hook in his hand, joy with a frown on his face and the hope of the future with love in his heart, Seniors come in a variety of sizes, Colors and ages: hut each has a fundamental desire: to graduate into a world where he will be happy and unafraid, X r v , ,Kg Seniors go for teachers who give .-Vs, Saturday nights, prestige, Maverick, underclasstnen of the opposite sex and ,ioh opportunities. They're not sold on teachers who give 3's, the end ot' Cl line, under- classmen in general, civics class, advice or staying at home, Nobody else is so late to get up and so late to get in.
