On October 6, 1972, Cathy Dilbeck became the first football queen at Haubstadt High School, She was saluted by an archway of pom-pon girls and shields bearing her name as she made her entrance. She was crowned and escorted to her throne by co-captains Chris May and Randy Sollman. The Elites completed Cathy's night with a victory over the Petersburg Indians. 51 QUEEN CATHY'S COURT. CINDY REIGNS AS BASKETBALL QUEEN On January 20, 1973, before the Haubstadt-North Posey game, Cindy Hipp was crowned the 1973 Basketball Queen. As the court entered the gym, Cindy was saluted by the five shield bearers and six pom-pon girls, with Pep Band providing the music.
