Memories of the cautious sad beginnings— sad losses when a friend moved or when friends grew apart: lonely times. Memories of the surprising glad beginnings— glad discoveries of life and of love: together times. Nineteen seventy-two for the Seniors marks not the end of these beginnings, but an awareness of their importance and of the beginnings that await us. •. Spirits were high and everybody (well almost everybody) had a great time. We are all looking optimistically toward the 72-73 basketball season. 72 SEIMIUKS BRENT MATHEW Chamber of Commerce Senior Athlete Award Participated in all Varsity Sports STAN MAY Chamber of Commerce Senior Athlete Award Most Valuable Player Award TERRY LAMEY Chamber of Commerce Senior Athlete Award Team Captain RICHARD WALLACE Chamber of Commerce Senior Athlete Award Rebounding Award 74 RESERVE BASKETBALL CLASS TOURNEY It was the Sophomore Girls romping over the Juniors, the Senior Boys oozing past the Sophomores, and the Faculty squashing the Seniors before they ran out of oxygen. In short, pure unbelievable! CROSS COUNTRY The 1971-72 Sports Season has to be termed a success for, although no major championship was attained, the spirit of good sportmanship was aptly demonstrated by the players, coaches, and the many loyal supporters. Football, at Haubstadt, was a mixture of wins and defeats with some encouraging moments from the Reserve Team. All in all, everyone is looking ahead to next Fall when Haubstadt will compete on the Varsity level in Football. Basketball had some exciting moments and, at times, Haubstadt had the best one quarter basketball team in the state. The Seniors! will be sorely missed, but next year's team should be a scrappy bunch with an eye toward a winning season. Both Track and Baseball had some individual stand-outs, but, as a whole, team efforts fell short. The real winners, all season long, were those observers that became AWARE that discipline and sportsmanship is really where it's at!! 78 m y-3 . , v ?? '. . • v 2rv yy C -' •' - ■ 'i fV . I.
