 We've Only Just Begun was the motto of the graduating Class of '71, but on the night of May 22, 1971, by the looks on their faces it appeared to be a very final ending. At 8:00 the end of high school days began. Forty-eight royal blue gowned Seniors marched into the new gym clutching yellow roses, tears behind their eye lids, memories of all that fun and work, and a thousand mixed emotions. Stan Epperson gave the Salutatory Address; Sheila Hoefling spoke as Vale- dictorian; and Marilyn Kissel presented all four members of the Class of 1921. Diplomas were presented, tassels were turned and Haubstadt High School had 48 fewer students within her Halls of Ivy.
