SENIOR CLASS HISTCDRY ln gathering my material for writing the official history of this class, l have decided not to give a ,formal and dry history, but only to mention some of the out- standing events ot our school days. Some of us have been together since our primary days. We have found school lite not always a bed of roses, but we have had a pleasant time. We are the first to graduate from Hasty under the twelve year school plan and we are happy because we have had the opportunity to be together for another year. Our home room teachers for the last four years were: Freshman, Mr. Hilton and Miss Bryan lthe class was so large it was divided into two sectionsl g Sophomore, Miss Bryan, junior, Mrs. Vvfhitesellg and thenfthis year when we were all looked up ,to as Dignified Seniors and Mrs. Perry was our Home room teacher and class advisori The class presidents for the last four years werei Freshman, Donnie Peace and Billy Kennedy, Sophomore, Marguerite Pickard, and junior and Senior years, Billy Kennedy. Our Sophomore year brought full realization that we were in high school for that was the year that we received our class rings. Also in our Sophomore year, since there were only eleven grades then, we considered it a great honor and a lot of fun to sponsor the junior-Senior banquet, ln our junior year the main event was our junior play, Here Comes the Prince, which was a big success. We have great plans for this year, iniaddition to seeing the Carolina vs. V.P.l. football game and we are looking forward to the Senior Play, the junior-Senioi banquet, and our trip to Washington, D, C., which should be the Cala Event of the year. We think we are leaving a good heritage to the school. This year, under the sponsorship of the junior and Senior classes we are publishing an annual, this year also the Student Aid Association under the sponsorship of the Seniors and Mrs. Perry has been presented to the students for the first time. i j -We will always be grateful to our parents for providing us with the opportunity to receive a high school education, and to our teachers for the patience and considera- tion they have shown throughout the years we were with them. Our faith in our homes and our school is the basis of the confidence with which we face the future. A Billy R. Kennedy Class Historian
