v STUDENT COUNCIL DEBATES THE What about the smoking problem? What can we do with the drop outs? The number has grown too large. How about help in getting answers to our ques- tions? Who do we talk to? These are some of the questions asked by concerned students. They got their answers from the 80-81 student council. This year's student council dedicated time to discuss such questions and find answers to some of the important prob- lems in our school. This group consist- ed of 24 concerned students. They spent time discussing the questions that the students wanted answers to. They accomplished many things and tried to answer the major questions. One of the biggest problems was the grading and evaluation system. Many people felt it was unfair to the students who wanted to improve themselves, because others took easy classes just to get an easy Many plans were proposed. ISSUES The council sponsored fund raising ideas. One such idea was the Royalty Night Dance. Out of the 24 students, 8 were offi- cers, and 4 out of every grade were representatives. The eight officers were: Scott Messlerg President, Dan Bunde, Vice President, Lori Houtzg Secretary, Brenda Hemje, Treasurer, Dave Cooverg Senior Representative, Tom Evansg Junior Re- presentative, Jamie Carrg Sophomore Representative, Joe Andersong Fresh- men Representative. Officers of the Student Council discuss some of the many major and important projects with Mr Freeman. STUDENT COUNCIL: Back Row: D. Honn, S. Messier, D. Bunde, J. Carr, D. K. DeWitt, R. Crandell, T.
