To join Quiz Bowl one needs to be creative with a solid academic base. Possible future activities may in- clude an inner school competition to precede the Twin Valley Quiz Bowl. The Hastings High School Interact Club has the largest membership of any club in the school. It is a service and social club and has done several service projects this year. Interact organized snowball, held a school dance, raised money for needy families, and donated money to local organizations. Interact officers this year are Wayne Oom, President; Chuck Robin- son, Vice-President; and Dawn Archer, Secret a ry T reasurer. BALLERINA GIRL — LIONEL RICHIE Humanities Club members pursue cultural enrichment. They are interested in the arts, the developments and achievements of humankind. Humanities Club attends exhibits, plays, operas and ballet. Humanities club meets as needed to plan its activities. President Amy Andrus, Vice Pres. Mark Slocum, and Sec. Treas. Steve Laubaugh are the officers. An interest in the humanities is the only requirements for membership. The Hastings Chapter of S.A.D.D. encourages high school students to not drink and drive. Each year S.A.D.D. spon- sors a dance to raise money for its activities, which include designing a display case and placing anti-drinking and driving reminders in flower boxes and tuxedo’s at prom time. S.A.D.D. has five co-chairman who all share the gover- ning responsibilities equally. The chairman are Cherie Swank, Mark Slocum, Coleen Sootsman, Traci Warren, and Lori Hough.
