Potts, Trustee T rustee Realizing the.need for increased educational facilities, the Board of Edu- cation started agitation in favor of a new school building, and succeeded in putting across the bond issue which makes this possible. In the vote, which was taken March 21, Hastings voters showed themselves to be almost four to one in favor of the erection of a new building. There was much effort expend- ed in getting this measure before the public. Pamphlets containing necessary information about the issue were distributed among the voters, and open Parent- Teacher Association meetings were held in which the need was discussed. The Board of Education is to be commended for the way this matter has been handled. The old Junior High School, erected in 1872, has been torn down and work begun on the new Central school.
