'- 1 'Q I ' A' I Semor Class Hzstory On the day of September 3 194 8, ten green little Freshies tripped gaily up the hill. They were Bill Bailey Milfred Benmcosa Betty Fern Dunbar Darrell Hall Bill Haroff Shirley Johnson Billy Noble, Carolyn Ord Joyce Shapcott and Betty Weak Billy Noble left the second day of school All too soon we found that initiation was upon us We came in couples taken from the comic strips In October, Wanda O Dell joined us and in December the Freshman Class spon- sored a Christmas party In February we lost Bill Bailey, but in March Jo anne Waterworth joined us. Our subjects were English 9 General Business, General Science and Algebra There were nine lucky people who returned for their Sophomore year on August 29, 1949 They were Mxlfred Betty Fern Darrell Bill, Joyce Shirley, Carolyn Jo-anne and Betty Our subjects were' English 10, World History Geometry and Commercial Law This year there were only eight students that came eagerly tripping up the steps anticipating their Junior year Mildred had left to go to Glenwood ln the first six weeks Shirley left the Jolly Juniors to get married Our subjects this year are American History English Literature Bookkeeping Typing and Chemistry We received our class rings on December 18th and plan to have our Junior and Senior Banquet on April 13 1951 At long last we have reached our Senior year This year included only five little rr1embe1'S They are Jo anne Darrell Joyce Betty Fern and B111 Our subjects were Biology American Literature Economics Sociology and Govern ment In the early part of September we enjoyed two days freedom in getting ads for the annual This finally concludes the high school chapter in our lives The individuals will now go their separate ways to make a future history C -4' O O I 9 . I v sy -ll F u J, N, n 7 5 Semor Class Prophecy It has been Z0 years since we last saw the Seniors of 51 We are about to depart on a journey which will enable us to find out what these Happy Go Lucky friends have made of themselves Of course we will visit our old friend whom we have been able to keep track of through the years by his great political escapades He rose from the mayor of Hastings to the Governor of this fair state then to the senate, and is now serv- mg his first term and a very successful one at thatj as the President of the United States of America, William Priest Haroff the second bachelor President ever to hold office He is able to supply data on the rest of the class for us Next, still in the state of Iowa, we visit the largest most properous hog ranch m the world The owner s house is a wonderful mansion which it takes 40 servants to operate successfully lt looks like Joyce has made her catch because over the gate it reads The Kelley Swine Ranch Joyce and Jim also have four fine looking children' two boys and two girls And now we visit Betty Fern As you know she was always a brain So what do you suppose she turned out to be No you re wrong She has become as we always thought the most well known brain surgeon in the world She and Walt are getting along wonder fully with their six Cadillacs and as many children We travel on to California and as we wander down toward the beach we notice a stand which reads Baslees Hot Dog Stand Get Em While They re Hot We wander up to the stand where we find our old friend chewing on a hot dog We always knew she liked to eat Yes you ve guessed who it is It s our former Jo anne Waterworth She greets us and asks us to share a hot dog with her She tells us that she and Junior run their great big recreation stands on the beach in the summer and during winter they run a movie Jo anne tells us there are no little Baslees yet but they are still hoping Well we tell Jo anne we must leave as it is getting near evening and we have one more person to visit Darrell has made a real success of himself He as we all know had a lot of talent At what we didn t quite know I He is now ranked among those well known men To name a few such as VanDyck Michelangelo and Raphael Yes you guessed it he became a painter But he like Bill I mean President Haroff, never got hooked I mean married Well, we re getting so tired we can t write so we better journey homeward ll 1 9 f o ' O . - - it u ' D . .
