M SSIO CCO PLI I-IED a The First Concord Squadron has made History in supporting its countryls aims effectively in an area that does not often have an opportunity to come in contact With the American Navy man. The outstanding efforts, and true ambassadorship of all hands will long be remembered for their exemplary sincerity and determination. As the Squadron disbands each and everyone of you can take a just pride in your unusual accomplishments. The primary mission of conveying good Will was carried out to perfection. In addition to this, your professional skill is attested to by the fact that all training requirements Were met, there were no serious material failures, and the Whole operation was conducted in com- plete safety even though no bingo fields Were available and logistic lines were long and slender. It has been a real pleasure Working with you. To all hands, good luck, a smooth sailing, and again, Well donel CTF NINE ZERO I am most impressed by the exceedingly fine reports from many sources on the splendid performance of the Concord Squadron . I Wish to add my ovvn personal expression of appreciation and admiration for the superb performance and discipline afloat and ashore of all hands during this period. Your per- formance Was exactly as expected, but it is always a source of great pride and confidence to observe a forward echelon of the Seventh Fleet to be both a ready fighting force and an effective representative of the United States. Well Done. VICE ADMIRAL MOORER. The outstanding conduct of this initial task force visit to the Indian Ocean is a tribute to the leadership of the units involved and the exemplary character of the American Bluejacket. The unanimous enthusiasm and high praise of U. S. Officials of ports visited as Well as the invitations for return visits by local government officials is a measure of how well you acheived the good Will objective of this operation. Well Done.
