Pitman, MMI f R D1v1s1oN The R in R division actually stands for repair, but more appropriately it means jack of all trades. Among the trademen found in this division of the engineering department are shipfitters, electricians, damage controlmen and internal communications repairmen. These are the lads that maintain the ship's gyro, our true course indicator, keep talos on the refrig- eration and air conditioning systems, weld where and when it's needed, keep up the mo- tors in the captain's gig and whale boat, get to a fire first, see to the workings of our com- plex electrical system, run the movie projectors and keep trying to tix that supposed ice-cream making machine. You name it, R division will tix it, and if they don't know how, they'll fix it anyway. By ENS Kartvedt 7 sv , Bmw K ff.. f N. ,rf fs! l y X Z 1 sz X X Ernest L. Cannon, FN D. E. Hallock, FN Ervin H.
