A Boatswains Mate is required to stand a greater variety of Watches than any other rate, A Boatswains Mate must become proficient in the operation and maintenance of all manner of small craft, possesses a Working knowledge of the rules of the road, and exhibit the finest sense of good seamanship and boat etiquette.
