mmi •lii! Mir ' f ‘Jtt ‘TTtettuny We the Senior Class of 1962 wish to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Pat Murphy. Through his many efforts and his friendship, he has become and will always remain a major part of Haslett High School. $ DecUcatto t- Guides are these, Guides who lead us Toward the light of achievement. Tireless, hard-working, exemplifying Extraordinary interest in students are they. Sometimes we think them cruel symbols of work and discipline. However, when we recall all of the learning and enjoyment We have experienced, We shall also remember how deeply we are indebted - Indebted to the men and women we call teachers. 7 lotionol School ' Scuxrd The Board of Education extends its best wishes to the Class of 1962. As you travel down life ' s highways carrying your bit of Haslett with you, pick your code or your philosophy; and if you have trouble, you could do worse than pick this one by Henry Van Dyke entitled: FOUR THINGS Four things a man must learn to do If he would make his record true: To think without confusion clearly; To love his fellow-men sincerely; To act from honest motives purely; To trust in God and Heaven securely. OFFICE STAFF Sujlt tutte tde(ttd T Ccddaae To the Class of 1962: Congratulations to all of you on Graduation Day. Through 13 years of persistent effort, with many ups and downs, successes and failures, griefs and joys, you have finally achieved the goal that many boys and girls do not reach. You are fortunate in that you live in a community, state and country which holds high the ideals of education. This is borne out especially in your community where a great deal of money, time and effort has been spent to provide you with the necessary facilities with which to obtain your training. Education, however, never should reach the end of the line for we are confronted daily with new problems to solve. Wherever you go and whatsoever you do, consider the need to continue your training in order that your life may be full of joy, happiness, and success. Best wishes to each one of you in the class of 1962. May the one who watches over all of us guide, protect, and help you in your every worth-while venture. Sincerely, F. J. Jappinga Superintendent ' P ' tutcifiaC To The Class of 1962: The rapidly spinning world of the senior revolves around a host of friends, a galaxy of ex¬ citement in a universe of change. As this intricate world beings turning, the senior is swept in¬ to his final year with endless enthusiasm and fondest hopes and wishes. As the final year of his best years picks up speed, he finds himself on the threshold of what he has so long anticipated. Now, he must step into an even more rapidly spinning world, and the graduate must accept the new challenge with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. For what has gone before have truly been the best years, but they have been only the beginning or possibly the end of the beginning. But now, there are new challenges and they must be accepted in the spirit of your class motto, The Higher We Climb, the Brighter the View. Congratulations and best wishes as you meet the challenges of the future. Sincerely, V. M. Kerensky Principal MR. E. TOWNSEND ‘70t4lt6 n4ltcc4- MR. D. BROUSE How to get a kick out of Arithmetic. MR. The Top Ten were chosen on the basis of academic skill and were honored at an Honors Banquet for all students in the school with a 3. 5 or better academic record. They were presented with medals and were further distinguished by wearing a gold-colored, braided rope on their graduation gowns.
