Ronnie Austin Colette Stewert Business Manager .... Nancy Browne Advisor ....... . Miss Tennar Go- 22C!l:CU.tt.Ol'l We, the Crigo staff of 1958. co-dedicate this annual to Mrs. Janet L. Glasgo and our parents. In 1935 Mrs. Glasgo graduated from Haskins School as valedictorian gf her class. Her preparation for teaching was done at Bowling Green State University and Ohio State University majoring in Home Ec. Mrs. Glasgo was a Home Demonstration Agent in Be lleview and on the Ohio State University staff. Mrs. Glasgo has-taught at Haskins 6 years. She sponsored our class three years and taught our English class three of our four years in high schoolg Besides teaching, sne is married to Victor Glasgo and mother of two girls, Nancy and Ruth, She also does judging of granges, fairs, etc. When we look back on our high school days, we shall always remember Mrs. Glasgo, whose helpful guidance and understanding has won her a place in the hearts of each of us. Our parents have gently nudged us along our way for eighteen years. As the time for graduation nears, we pause for a moment to look back on all they have done for us. Ever since we have been old enough to understand, they have taught us three important virtues, to love, be honest and to do anything we undertake to the best of our ability. They have prepared us for this step by teaching us to be useiul citizens. No one is Created perfect, and we are sure parents are the first to agree with us, so when we have made a mistake or have done wrong in any way and have hurt you, we didn't do so intentionally. Because of human nature, we tried very hard to offset all our mistakes by doing some- thing to make you proud and take away a little bit of the hurt. Now we stop reminiscing and think seriously of the future. What it holds for us is unkown. We can cnly hope and dream of its possessions, but should any success come to us, we owe it to you, and if failure comes to us, we have only ourselves to blame. The feelings we have for you-are' hard to express in our words, but we feel they are well expressed in the words of Talmud-- If there is a saving virtue, it is the loving service of our parents. .Hcfministra tion ' V f 1 SUPERINTENDENT, Mr, case 4? Although our home room may have gotten a little noisy at times, we think that we have kept our composure quite well throughout the year, As our first venture into big business, we tried our hand at sale srnenship and found it quite profitable. From the nurn- erous beauties in our class Evelyn Browne was chosen as our candidate for the annual senior dance. Miller. Ronnie Austin, Assistant Editor The masterpiece for the year, 1958 is complete, and the Crigo Staff is proud as a peacock. We have worked hard and long, but when we saw the finished product we knew it was time well spent. Before any actual work began, subscriptions were taken. Nancy Browne was the girl re- sponsible for keeping all the money straight. Our editor, Lynne was busy laying out the pages and assign- ing various duties. Assistant editors, Colette Stewart and Ronnie Austin, were kept busy cutting out' pictures and assist- ing Lynne. Marian Watts and Martha Hofner were to blame for all the noise at the staif meetings. Nancy Browne, Business Manager Colette Stewart, Assistant Editor They keep the typewriters humming. N Marian Watts , Typist Charles Bernthisel, Larry Browne, photographersg Miss Tennar, Advisor. Every time a flash bulb went off you could be sure to find Larry Browne or Chuck Bernthisel behind the cameras. Tom Wygant was the Rembrant of our annual, the art captions are his handiwork. Roberta Huss and Dorothy Sergent wrote stories for this masterpiece, we admit they are no competition for Shakespeare however. Last, but not least, Miss Tennar, our faculty advisor, proof-read and made helpful suggestions when necessary, for which we are ever grateful, Ho Hum! l wltn a sighlof nostalgia we complete our first venture in journalism with a pictorial account of four of the best years of our lives. When the Editor's copy has been received the end must be near, To bring you this 1958 Crigo has been a mixture of joy and tribulation. To have worked with the staff throughout the entire year has been an exper- ience none of us will forget, As we worked, both in unison and discord, for what can be accomplished without disagreements, struggling to meet dead- lines, and casting glances at the desk of the Business Manager to see if any money might be laying in sight so that a new idea could be forced upon your eyes, we often wondered Why such effort? As we look now and join with you in later years in one more glance just to see what really happened that time the reason for the yearbook comes from the haze, Once again we who are the staff want to extend to Miss Tennar, our advisor, and to you, whether student or faculty member, our appreciation for the cooperation we received and present to you our best, the l958 Crigo. But when looking at today,s school architecture, we think youlll agree that glass has made a difference! Here's picture-proof that school corridors don't have to be dark and dreary tunnels. No longer must walls be solid and opaque. Today, more attention is being paid to daylight and view.
