Senior Class History September of 1940 brought fifteen pupils to Haskins School for the first time. They were; Marilyn Moore, Joyce Fischer, Charles Walker, Ruth Gibbs, Robert Asmus, Virginia Genson, Joanne Asmus, Herbert Peters, Marie Myers, Gerald Bower, and Robert Heiman. During the next seven years, we gained the following class- mates; Wanda Moore, Robert Sabo, Francis Naegele, Ronald Youngpeter, Ruth Symon, Jack Armitage, Jim Hessman, Gerald Duty, Betty Wolfe, Alice Allison, and Lorin Shonk. We lost the following: Charles Thomas, Herbert Peters, Lorin Shonk, Robert Sabo, Gerald Bower, Betty Wolfe, Alice Allison, Ronald Youngpeter, and Ruth Wymon. We entered the Freshman year with fifteen members, eleven of whom completed their four years of high school with us. Our sponsors for this year were: Mrs. Kamenik and Miss Reed. We were initiated into high school by the Sophomore class, otherwise this year was very uneventful.. The Sophomore year found us with the same number of pupils, but with Mrs. Jolley as our sponsor. We initiated the Freshman class. We had class parties which were enjoyed Fy ali. In our Junior year we lost Carol Andrews. Mr. Larson was our sponsor for this year. We sponsored the Junior- Senior Banquet, which was held on the evening of May 4, 1951, at the Toledo Women’s Club. We also gave the play, ‘Professor, How Could You?’’ We gave a dance in the spring of 1951 with Harry Lanning’s orchestra playing. The Senior year brought us to the close of our high school career. On May 19, 1952 eleven persons were graduated from Haskins High School. They include the following: Joanne Asmus, Dorothy Snyder, Jim Hessman, Bill Browne, Ruth Gibbs, Virginia Genson, Marilyn Moore, Tom Armitage, Francis Naegele, Charles Walker, and Robert Asmus. During our Senior year we applied our excess energy to various money making projects to finance our trip to Washington D. C. and New York. Some of our ‘‘get rich quick’’ schemes were; a dance, a bake sale, a talent show, and a play. We also sold pop, popcorn, and candy at the basketball games.
