Class History In the fall of 1838 twenty-four eager pupils entered the first grade. These includ= ed: Dorothy Brown, Doris Duncan, Bonnie Browne, Paul Michealis, Pauline Norvell, June Robinson, Arleta Snyder, Mary Snyder, Richard Snyder, Leotta Limes, James Watts, Harold Weihl, Ted Weing, Judith Flatter, Wanda Moore, James Nicholson, Ilva Peters, Anna Mae Stump, Robert Wenig, Florence Royer, Marilyn Starrick, Lois Browning, Larraine Harmon, and Charlotte Murdock. Miss Newlove was the teacher. In the second year two more members, Cora Mae Engle, and Harold Mutchler, started to school, but James Nicholson left thus making the total enrollment of the second grade twenty-six. The next year we moved into Miss Asmus’ room. We didn’t gain any new members, but lost Judith Flatter, Wanda Moore, Florence Royar, Marilyn Starrick, Lois Browning, Anna Mae Stump, Robert Wenig, and Cora Mae Engle. In the fourth grade Shirley Owens and Bob Mutchler entered our class. Our fifth year found us in Miss Behrens’ room. Paul Eckel and Jerold Shonk entered our grade but we lost Charlotte Murdock, Ilva Feters, and Alvin Neitzke. In our sixth year we gained Ruth Debbe, Dick Huss, and Sue Symons, and lost Shirley Owens. The following year we entered Junior High. Charlotte Murdock returned, and Jerold Shonk and Sue Symons left. In the eighth year Lamson Brown and Bob Ballard came into our class. Now came the thrill of a life time when we entered High School. Fred Hall, Victoria Pollom and James Nicholson were added to our enrollment, but we lost Bob Ballard near the end of our Freshman year. In our Sophomore year Betty Boso and Marion entered school. Victoria Pollum and Paul Michealis left. Our Junior year came around and we had lost one member, Fred Hall. As we came back to our last year at Haskins we discovered that we had lost three members: Doris Duncan, Betty Boso, and Dorothy Brown. The present enrollment of fourteen is as follows: Charlotte Murdock, Arleta Snyder, James Watts, Marion Sutton, June Robinson, Harold Weihl, Mary Snyder, Ted Wenig, Paul Eckel, Leotta Limes, Bonnie Browne, Jim Nicholson, Dick Huss, and Dick Snyder. We had a very busy and happy time planning for our trip and our play, “‘It's a Great Life’’. At this time we wish to give our sincere thanks to the parents and teachers for providing and helping us with our education.
