These includ= ed: Dorothy Brown, Doris Duncan, Bonnie Browne, Paul Michealis, Pauline Norvell, June Robinson, Arleta Snyder, Mary Snyder, Richard Snyder, Leotta Limes, James Watts, Harold Weihl, Ted Weing, Judith Flatter, Wanda Moore, James Nicholson, Ilva Peters, Anna Mae Stump, Robert Wenig, Florence Royer, Marilyn Starrick, Lois Browning, Larraine Harmon, and Charlotte Murdock. Miss Newlove was the teacher. In the second year two more members, Cora Mae Engle, and Harold Mutchler, started to school, but James Nicholson left thus making the total enrollment of the second grade twenty-six. The next year we moved into Miss Asmus’ room. We didn’t gain any new members, but lost Judith Flatter, Wanda Moore, Florence Royar, Marilyn Starrick, Lois Browning, Anna Mae Stump, Robert Wenig, and Cora Mae Engle. In the fourth grade Shirley Owens and Bob Mutchler entered our class. Our fifth year found us in Miss Behrens’ room. Paul Eckel and Jerold Shonk entered our grade but we lost Charlotte Murdock, Ilva Feters, and Alvin Neitzke. In our sixth year we gained Ruth Debbe, Dick Huss, and Sue Symons, and lost Shirley Owens. The following year we entered Junior High. Charlotte Murdock returned, and Jerold Shonk and Sue Symons left. In the eighth year Lamson Brown and Bob Ballard came into our class. Now came the thrill of a life time when we entered High School. Fred Hall, Victoria Pollom and James Nicholson were added to our enrollment, but we lost Bob Ballard near the end of our Freshman year. In our Sophomore year Betty Boso and Marion entered school. Victoria Pollum and Paul Michealis left. Our Junior year came around and we had lost one member, Fred Hall. As we came back to our last year at Haskins we discovered that we had lost three members: Doris Duncan, Betty Boso, and Dorothy Brown. The present enrollment of fourteen is as follows: Charlotte Murdock, Arleta Snyder, James Watts, Marion Sutton, June Robinson, Harold Weihl, Mary Snyder, Ted Wenig, Paul Eckel, Leotta Limes, Bonnie Browne, Jim Nicholson, Dick Huss, and Dick Snyder. We had a very busy and happy time planning for our trip and our play, “‘It's a Great Life’’. At this time we wish to give our sincere thanks to the parents and teachers for providing and helping us with our education. Class Will of 1950 We, the Senior Class of 1950, do accept this year to be the end of our glorious school career at Haskins High School. Having been adjudged sound of mind and memory, and desiring to dispose of our possessions both in value and otherwise do declare this to be our last will and testament and dispose of the estate of the Senior Class as follows: To the teachers we leave peace of mind (we hope) and promise we will never return to torment them. To the Juniors, we bequeath our intensive noisiness which, if not needed, may be passed on to the next classes. I, Bonnie Browne, bequeath my long hair to Jane Eckel. I, Arleta Snyder, bequeath my power of never breaking my glasses to Audrey Gerdeman and Pauline Mutchler. We, Leotta Limes and Mary Snyder bequeath our flirtatious ways to Lois Liebherr hoping she will make good use of them. I, Jim Nicholson, bequeath my going to Waterville to Jim Murdock. I, Paul Eckel, leave my ability to be Basketball Captain to Tom Gibbs and hope he has a winning season. I, June Robinson, bequeath my devotion to one man to Audrey Gerdeman. I, Jim Watts, bequeath my ability to find dead end streets to Ted North. I, Harold Weihl, bequeath my ability to drive at night to the Junior boys. I, Charlotte Murdock, bequeath my visits from Waterville every night to Pauline Mutchler. I, Marion Sutton, Bequeath my ability to write editorials to Lois Liebherr. I, Ted Wenig, bequeath my ability to eat in the cafeteria to Mr. Van Atta hoping that he doesn’t get the middle age spread too soon. I, Richard Snyder, bequeath my ability for being late to school to Harold Mutchler hoping he doesn’t get the habit sta-ted. I, Richard Huss, bequeath my abilities to drive a car and always have a girl, to all the Junior boys. We heredo request our funeral services be carried on with much dignity and grace as our position entitles us too. In witness thereof, we the class of 195U hav. «+ our hands signed, and sealed to you this will on the eighteenth day of May, in the year ui our Lord, 1950. 12 Senior Class Prophecy of 1950 As I went up to the Haskins Publishing Office, to get my next assignment, the Boss said I was to take a trip, with all expenses paid, to get the lastest history about the Atomic Class of 1950. I was to be ready to start the next morning on the jet special plane 6321073 which the Haskins Airport has just purchased. The first member I called upon was Dr. James Watts, known as the ““Genius of Science’’. Dr. Watts has invented a bomb which excells both the atomic and the hydrogen bomb. His life is in such danger from enemies who want the formula of the bomb that he has employed a full time body guard, who is none other than Ted Wenig, better known as Flat Foot Wenig of the Bull Dog Dectective Agency. After getting the history of these two noted men, I again boarded the jet special plane 6321073, and started for the deepest and most mysterious jungles of Africa. After having traveled for many days through the dark jungle, I found Jim Nicholson and Paul Eckel, who are better known as The World's Greatest Lion Tamers. When I asked them what they were doing in such a place, Jim and Paul told me they were getting some lions to take to New York to put in the zoo which they own. I was glad to get out of the jungle, and back to the United States. I arrived in Philadelphia and after looking at my list I found I could locate Arleta Snyder at the Phila- delphia House of Music. Arleta told me she was leaving in the afternoon for a tour of England with her all girls’ orchestra. In the same city I found Dick Huss who is the owner of the Deluxe Baby Rattles Company. I found his private secretary to be Mary Snyder. Mary told me it gets tiresome listening to Dick rattle on. My next stop was at the Hospital for Babies. To my surprise I found Richard Snyder the chief doctor. It happened Dr. Snyder was cut to lunch. I found his assistant to be Charlotte Murdock. Charlotte and Richard have been in partnership for the last ten years. A baby started crying so my interview ended very quickly. After looking at my list again, the name of Leotta Limes appeared. I found Leotta before the camera at the White Orchid Model Agency. Leotta is at the head of the fashion magazine “Inchanging Fashions” Again I boarded my plane and looking out the window I saw a large farm. After landing I found the owner Harold Weihl. He specialized in raising chickens with teeth and sheep with pink wool. I was near Los Angeles and so I decided to take a stroll down Vine Street. I was approaching Hollywood Avenue when I saw a large traffic jam. You guessed it! A woman traffic cop and to my surprise I found out it was June Robinson. She enjoys her work very much. As I looked at my list, just two names appeared. They were Bonnie Browne and Marion Sutton. I found out they are running a Beauty Salon with the slogan “We dare you to try our new beauty chair!’’ This is one of their own inventions in which you get a shampoo, wave, manicure, facial and massage all at the same time. They call their shop, ‘The Dare Devil Beauty Salon.”’ With my assignment completed, I climbed into my plane and decided to take a two week's vacation with pay in Florida. Do you think this will really happen in 1960? Wait and see. Juniors SECOND ROW: Mrs. Kille, Harold Mutchler, Jim Murdock, Tom Gibbs, Pauline Mutchler. The girls wore white caps and gowns and the boys wore dark navy blue caps and gowns. The Salutatory and Valedictory speeches were given by Harold Weihl and Richard Huss, re- spectively. The diplomas were presented to the graduates by Mr. L, I. Browne, President of the Board of Education. The response was then given by the President of the class, Harold Weihl. The invocation and benediction were given by Reverend Richmond of the Haskins Presbyterian Church. The class chose as their flower, the American Beauty Rose and for their colors, blue and gold. For their motto, ‘ Life Is As A Picture, Paint It Well’’. Baccalaureate Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday evening of May 14, 1950. Reverend Alfred W. McLeese, minister of the Haskins Federated Church, was the speaker of the evening with Reverend Carl W. Heller, of the Haskins Lutheran Church, and Reverend Harry Richmond of the Haskins Presbyterian Church assisting. The Seniors were ushered in by the members of the Junior class while the band played a processional march. Other special music was furnished by the Girls Glee C lub. The Seniors felt happy as they realized what they had accomplished in the last twelve years and yet they were sad to know that the time for leaving our school was drawing near. Junior Play The Junior Class presented ‘Star Crazy'’, a lively three act comedy by Don Elser, on the evening of November 4, 1949. Jerry Andrews, ably portrayed by Audrey Gerdeman, spent her time helping her father, an astronomer. Harold Mutcher was a natural in the latter part, acting the part of an absent-minded professor convincingly. When Jerry heard that Dick Mallon, a big league ball player, was to be back in town, she regretted having put a career ahead of marriage with him. Ted North filled this difficult part admirably. The audience loved Mary Jane Eckel as the “ kid' sister who set out to ‘‘fix’’ things along with the help of her girl friend Beth. The latter was played enthusiastically by Pauline Mutchler. Donna's brother Bill, a young baseball enthusiast, was reluctantly drawn into the seemingly hopeless situations cooked up by her and her friend. Tom Gibbs played this part and he rollicked through one exciting and screamingly funny perdicament after another, to the rousing and laughable climax, much to the delight of the audience. The arrival of Mallon's fiancee, a pretty and tempermental Hollywood star, added to the complications, along with the schemes of her agent, Joe Allcot, to get her back to work. These two parts were well played by Doris Lee and Jim Murdock, respectively. Everyone enjoyed the grumbling, indifferent maid, Izzy, played amusingly by Lois Leibherr. From the compliments received, it appeared that the large audience enjoyed witnessing the play as much as the cast and the director, Mrs. Hazel Kille, enjoyed producing it. In behalf of the class, Audrey Gerdeman presented a beautiful white orchid to Mrs. Kille in appreciation for her work in the play's production. i as eset Chemistry Future scientists.
