In the eighth grade we lost Frank Schatizke and Walter Brand, but John Youngpeter joined us. We passed all final exams and graduated into high school. This was one of the biggest thrills of our life. We started the 9th grade with 9 people, but during the year Gene Wolfe joined us. Miss Hutchinson was our sponsor for this year, also as she had fun with us in the 8th grade. Now returning as Sophomores, thinking we knew everything but finding out differently through education, we looked at our class, which had decreased to eight members. John Young— peter and Gene Wolfe had both left us. We had as our sponsor Mrs. Keifer. In the Junior year our number remained the same. Under Mr. Pickens, as sponsor, our class made money and gave a banquet for the Seniors. Now in our last and most happy year, but yet sad for we Will soon be leaving dear old Haskins High, we have a total of eight members, who are: Charles Genson, Gerald Ennis, Evelyn Duty, John Wenig, Nathalia Neal, Pauline Myers, Jo n Gibbs, and Harold Pope. Mr. Andrews was our sponsor and under his supervision we raised enough money to take a trip. On May 20 we walked up and received our diplomas. The end to a very happy Senior year. We, the Senior Class wish to thank everyone who have made our education possible and given us self-confidence and faith to look ahead into the future and toward the road to success.

CLASS PROPHECY OF 'h9 As the spring of 1959, came around and the circus began to travel the Barnum Baily and Ringling Brothers circus came to the great metropolis of Haskins and was advertising a new troupe of actors. So we decided to go to the circus and the next morning we got out the helicopter and flew down to the circus grounds and as time for the big show to start rolled around we went into the Big top and just as we got seated the big brass band began to play. As they came past us we were greatly surprised to see that the drum majorette was Joan Gibbs, a member of the class of '9. As the ringmaster came to the center of the ring to announce the acts we saw that it was Harold Pope yelling at the top of his voice. (He always was shooting off his mouth.) After he announced the next act we motioned to him to come over. He told us he liked his job very much since he was married to the former Joan Gibbs. He then returned to the ring and announced that they will see one of the most daring acts of the show-—-the lion tamer Marvo the Great who we soon found out was John Wenig. He stepped up to the lion and looked him square in the eyes. The crowd was tense, there were loud screams from the terrified women as Marvo stuck his head into the open lions mouth singing Caldonia, What Makes Your Big Head So Hard? (He always was sticking his neck out.) To prove his bravery to the crowd he again repeated it only this time the lion closed his mouth around Marvo's head--the lion lost three front teeth. Next the ringmaster announced Butterfoot the former Evelyn Duty, who is married to John Wenig. As she walked across the thin wire there was complete silence in the crowd, then as she reached the other side there is a loud ringing of applause. Then to show how good she really was she walked back across Without the wire. (Which is a grand feat if you can do it.’
