Class History of 'h9 On September 3, 1937, the class of 9 began their long and awaited education. The first grade class consisted of 18 members, who were: Walter Brand, Lamson Brown, Jinmy Brown- ing, Evelyn Duty, Charles Genson, Joan Gibbs, Fred Hall, Pauline Myers, Nathalia Neal, Lois Peters, Edwin Roe, Gordon Royer, Franklin Schatizke, Marion Sutton, John Wenig, Melvin Roe, Florence Royer, Dennis Sergent. We went through this grade with flying colors. Now in our second year we returned to find that we had lost some of our members who were: Lamson Brown, Edwin Roe, Marion Sutton, Dennis Sergent. We had gained some also, they were: Homer More, Harold Mutchler, and Robert Mutchler. We now had 17 in our class. After a happy second year of learn- ing new things we were ready for vacation, but couldn't wait for school to start the next year. We now proceeded to Miss Asms! room and the third grade, We found we had lost Harold and Robert Mutchler and gained Jewel Lawson. In the fourth grade Harold Pope and Jerry Ennis joined our gange Our fifth year came swiftly upon us and we lost only one person—Lois Peters. Our sixth year with Miss Behrens as our teacher, we gained Julia Peterson and Louise Owens. We now had nineteen members. Now at the beginning of school in 193, we had the thrill, through 6 years of hard work, of climbing the stairs to the Junior High. We found that Fred Hall, Julia Peterson, and Louise Owens had left us. Jewel Lawson also moved away in the middle of the year.

In the eighth grade we lost Frank Schatizke and Walter Brand, but John Youngpeter joined us. We passed all final exams and graduated into high school. This was one of the biggest thrills of our life. We started the 9th grade with 9 people, but during the year Gene Wolfe joined us. Miss Hutchinson was our sponsor for this year, also as she had fun with us in the 8th grade. Now returning as Sophomores, thinking we knew everything but finding out differently through education, we looked at our class, which had decreased to eight members. John Young— peter and Gene Wolfe had both left us. We had as our sponsor Mrs. Keifer. In the Junior year our number remained the same. Under Mr. Pickens, as sponsor, our class made money and gave a banquet for the Seniors. Now in our last and most happy year, but yet sad for we Will soon be leaving dear old Haskins High, we have a total of eight members, who are: Charles Genson, Gerald Ennis, Evelyn Duty, John Wenig, Nathalia Neal, Pauline Myers, Jo n Gibbs, and Harold Pope. Mr. Andrews was our sponsor and under his supervision we raised enough money to take a trip. On May 20 we walked up and received our diplomas. The end to a very happy Senior year. We, the Senior Class wish to thank everyone who have made our education possible and given us self-confidence and faith to look ahead into the future and toward the road to success.
