Of course, we gained members as we passed from grade to gradee We started our high school career with an enrollment of fif- teen Freshmen, brimming with the naive self-assurance that only Freshmen possesse After initiation we were settled down and ready to start our high school future. We entered our Sophomore yeer with an enrollment of fourteen, one less than we had in our Freshman year. Miriam Simons left, and moved to Perrysburge We started our career in sports’ and, other activities in our Sophomore year. Our sponsor, Miss Mer= cer, furnished us with many exciting parties. When we came to school as Juniors, with an enrollment of thirteen, we missed one of our studentse She was Ruth Norvell who moved to Bowling Greene Mre Loomis was our class sponsor, this year. We presented our elass play “Let Me Out of Here on November 17. Mrs. Moore dida fine job as our director. Our Junior-Senior Banquet was very successful and everybody Had a good times It was held at the Hillcrest Hotel in Toledo. A lovely vorogram was given which was followed by dancing. We en= joyed three class nvarties during the year under the supervision of our sponsor, Mr. Loomise Our Senior year began with an enrollment of twelve. We lost one member, Loma Robertson, who moved to Bowling Green. It has been a very busy year for all the Seniors. our Senior boys re- ceived letters for treir participation in the svort---basketball, To raise funds for our trip we took to Washington, [P.Ce, we put on a dance, a nanver drive, served cafeteria during the winter months, issued a year book, and presented our Senior vlay, Sum= | mer Storm . Our trip was taken from May 23 to May 27+ We had a wonderful time’ All of our activities were pursued with the help of our sponsor, re Andrews. We greatly enjoyed the banquet which the Junior Class cutedid themselves preparing for use We will always be grateful to our verents for providing us with the onvortunity to receive a high school education, and to our teachers for the patience and consideration they have shown throughout the years we were with theme Our faith in our homes and our school is the basis of the confidence with which we face the future. Sasa RDwabesibare 25° : ca Bi PPS Rea ayn pnee SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of 1948, in our right minds, leave our only possessions to the Junior Class. BERNITA NOWARD leaves her talent to chit-chat, giggle, and chew gum to Nathalia Neal in hopes for fewer demerits. DENNIS SERGENT wills his wavy hair and big blue eyes to all the Junior Girls and hopes it will bring them lots of luck. NORMA WALKER leaves her loyalty to one man only to Evelyn Duty in hoves for hapvy hunting. BOB ECKEL wills the Haskins High Basketball Team to Jom Wenig and wishes him a winning 1948-49 season. SHIRLEY HEIMAN cheerfully wills her editorship of the Crim- son and Gold to Pauline Myers in hopes that she will keep the presses hot with news from good, old Haskins High. EENRY WAUTEPS leaves his sense of fair play and pleasant personality to all the Junior Boys. THE FOUR SENTIOn GIRLS leave their squabbles to the four Junior Girls and hope they don't have as many fist fights as we did (joking, of course). RAYMOND PORTER wills his being late to school to Harold Pope who has a good start in keeping up his habit. ARLYN SNYDER leaves his ability for getting quarter day-off cards to Gerry Ennis. NELDA HARTMAN wills her blue ribbon volley-ball team to Joan Gibbs in hopes that she will keep the ball in the air. LYNN SNYDER leaves his wolf-like ways to Harold Pope and hopes that he can be “Lady Killer, Number 2”. ROGER BENGTSON leaves his giggling to all the Junior Boys and hopes that they can be as vopular with the nervous faculty members as he was. SAY GEXSON wills his ability to drive acar to Charles Genson hoving that he will keep out of the ditch. THE SENIOR BOYS pass on to all the Junior Boys the 4,798,007 demerits accumulated by them throughout this past school year and just dare them to come close. We, TEE SENIOR CLASS OF 1948, will to the Junior Class our good looks, charm, and personality in hones that they will have as successful a Senior year es we had. +. Seoeyyye pal? = aye bait ia? tc ae Fe oe 75 2 w C One quiet summer evening, as I sat in my easy chair idly pase sing the time, I began to wonder what had become of my old school chums--the ones with whom I had svent many hanpy davs of carefree youth. Right in the middle of a pleasant memory, I heard a knock on the door. Answering it, I found much to my chagrin none other than my old buddy Roger Bengtsone How time had changed him! And why not? After all, who can work all three shifts at Spicers and not show a little wear and tear? After we had chatted for a lit- tle while, he told me of the purpose of his visit. It seems that another old classmate, Bob Eckel, had decided to run for Chief of Police of downtown Haskinse (He thinks no one will ever suspect an officer of the lew.) Roger is his campaign manager--for IV. pon assuring Roger that I would not, even in my right mind vote for Bob, I began asking about the rest of the old gang. He was able to tell me that Sam Genson was recently promoted to head dog catcher of Bowling Green. One just never knows how successful one's friends will turn out, does one? He also tole me that Dene nis Sergent was still a student at Maskins High School working on his Senior year Chemistry classe It seems he just must have that credit to graduate. His motto seems to be If at first you don't succeed, try, try, a GUN$” Rod had run into another old pal the previous day. She was definitely wearing the New Look. Her dress was of huge black and white stripes. It seems that Bernita Now= ard is the matron in the Womens' Reformatory at Mansfield. Good Behavior’ Then, with e varting giggle, Rod bid me farewell. Because, he had aroused my curiosity, I sought out the town gossip who was able to give me some more information about my partners in crime. Norma Jean Walker and Henry Wauters finally got married and now have ten children. Arlyn Snvder is living with his folks still trying to get his 1934 Ford in running cone dition. Nelda Hartman is now the holder of the title Womens! Wrestling Champion of Northwestern Ohio and apnears nightly at the Civic Auditorium. Ray Porter and Lynn Snyder are partners in a business where they manufacture and sell glass hod carrierse Their slogan is Let us make light of your worke” (And they'd know how to do it--being authorities in the field.) Well, tempus fugit, and I must be offi I must be to go to all this trouble just to check up on the class of 1948. I must stop at the school to pick up my little boy Jerry Junior. He isn't doing too well in school this yeare His teacher, Shirley Heiman keeps sending home the same problem with him for arithmetic homee work. A school teacher makes $2200 and her expenses are $2600 and we can't figure it out either. Could we be pipe dreaming? Or is this really the class of 1948? a a Feguinwe “Shen ri — JUNIOR CLASS Back Roweelir. We can thank Joan Gibbs, Evelyn Duty, and Nathalia Neal for the lovely appearance of the table.
