————— | { CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago in the fall of 1955 fifteen members entered the first grade under their first instructor who was Miss Newlove. They were Don Ziss, Ward Wenig, Brice Thornton, Henry Shook, Jimmy Schutzberg, Jack Ryder, Donald North, Garold Garrett, Martin Adams, Grace Phillips, Pat- ricia Neal, Marilyn Nicholson, Verna Gibbs, Donna Gibbs, and Dorothy Browne. The following year we gained Marilyn Asmus as the only change in our enrollment. During our third year we lost Marilyn Nicholson and Jimmy Schutzberg who was the nice little boy we all remember who was strick- en with pneumonia. In our fourth year we had the addition of Billy Browning and Martha Ann Watt, and Marilyn Nichol- son returned to us. Ward Wenig left us at this time. In our fifth year we gained Robert Ennis, Franklyn Hummel, Anna Lawrence, and Norma Jean Lee, but lost Martin Adams. Anna Lawrence, Henry Shook, and Norma Jean Lee left us as we entered the sixth grade. In our seventh year our only addition was Laurel Duty; Harold Ragan joined us in our eighth. During our Freshman year we gained a new member, For- est Lee, and two old classmates from back in the grades, Henry Shook and ard Wenig, who came far enough after the beginning of the year to miss that period of time so agon- izing to all Freshmen when the plans are being made for initiation. We spent our Sophomore year working hard, and added a new member, Walter Agler, to our list but lost Harold Ragan and Henry Shook. We gave our first play, Kicked Out of College our Junior year. We were coached by both Mrs. Smith and Mr. Andrews, and helped by Morris Wenig, Loma Robertson, Suir- ley Heiman, Bernita Noward, and Dennis Sergent. Our first formal occasion was the banquet given at the Women'ts Club in Toledo in honor of the Seniors. Other occasions of im- portance in this full year were our part in the Baccalaur- eate and Commencement services. This last year of our high school training has been a busy time. We presented our Senior play, “Lunatics at Large ,’ April 11, 1947. We have been planning and working eagerly all year to enable our class to take a trip to Washington D. C. At this time we want to give our sifttere thanks to the community for being so very cooperative in making this trip possible. Thomas Dauer also entered our class this year.
